I just want to say in Verlander defense. If the stupid Offense had shown up I would bet it would have been easier on him. This offense is really pathetic at times. It was trending this way at the end of the year.

That’ll do. The lack of effort by our offense this entire series and the team as a whole yesterday and tonight brings to mind the 2017 Indians. They burned themselves out chasing after the record for most consecutive games won by a team. Seemed like once they had their 22-game winning streak they were spent both physically and emotionally and had little left for the playoffs. They lost sight of the real prize and were eliminated in the ALDS.
I’m hoping the Astros’ pursuit of the team record for wins in a season and home field advantage throughout the playoffs didn’t burn them out and take their focus off the real prize. Right now they are playing like they just want to get it over with and go home.
