I feel like it will be a fine, and maybe a draft pick or two. I can kinda see a ban being possible, but it will be to a no name scape goat. Probably some low level employee the Astros will pin it on. No way do I see Luhnow, Hinch, or any of the other bigger names taking any punishment for it.

If this went down as it is alleged to have gone down, it is hard to see how anyone in the dugout, clubhouse or FO could be unaware of it. Every batter had to be aware of it. If there is a TV monitor in the tunnel leading from the dugout to the clubhouse on which is a live feed of the opposing team’s catcher giving signals, every player and coach would have to be aware of it. Goldstein..., special assistant to Luhnow..., emails instructions to scouts telling them to attend games, attempt to steal signals and report back the info “we” in the FO want to know. If all that is true, I’m amazed they have been able to keep a lid on it this long. This is going to be a white mark on the Astros’ reputation.

Not a damn thing........it would create a scandal all over both leagues.......They will "conduct and in-depth investigation" and determine there is not enough evidence.

I hope you're right, but I think there is too much uproar over this for NOTHING to come out of it. The league will make an example of us to an extent, even if not much is found. But I don't see how they can't find something out of all this mess.

He wouldn't want the bad press for his son or himself though. They were big parts of 2017 themselves.

The latest stupid rumor to come out on the New York Post was that the Astros were wearing bandaids to cover their cameras. Channel 13 sports reporter just laughed at this last night. Their paranoia is just getting more and more ridiculous.

I think all of these outlandish allegations will end up helping the Astros because only idiots believe most of these wild stories. a butt hurt stooge like Mike Fiers, who was basically kicked off the Astros in 2017, started all of this crap. Here is a guy who was part of the team most of the season, became horrible on the mound, and lost his job. He was left off the playoff roster and non-tendered a contract so this is his attempt at paying the Astros back. He is a joke and an embarrassment.

Went the "other" choice. 1st and 2nd choices in poll. I think the team will negotiate down to a multi-million dollar fine, and couple of years of high draft picks. The more punative measures like GM ban and WS trophy would invoke a nuclear scorched earth direction that baseball can't afford right now. Most of the teams in the game would be implicated. Could be the end of the game as we know it.

Turning a blind eye to the (cough cough) pervasive cheating would be just as damaging to the game, and its percieved reputation. When $100's M of dollars and jobs ride on getting a competitve advantage, it becomes a dog eat dog world. If and when the truth comes out, I beleive that it will be found that this type of "advantage gaining" is culturally entrenched ubiquitous as hell. Whether the MLB owners and COB office want their dirty little secrets aired is the $64000 question. What I want to know, is why the Astros were chosen to be the punching bag of what might turn out to be a scandal that kills MLB's antitrust status

It’s a little too late for them to cry foul.

And I don't think the FO is. They seem to be okay with not being angels in the outfield, so to speak. And that's fine if we win, imo. Just don't get butthurt when your negative optics attract negative attention (the way a lot of our fellow fans seem to be taking it). Winners win and don't often worry about what the losers think. If that's the FO's mindset I'm okay with it as long as we keep on winning and don't get TOO ridiculous with some of the negative stuff. I don't mind us pushing the boundaries on some stuff, but I don't want to root for the Mob either.

These idiots need to get over it.........If we traded for Osuna and there was evidence that he had physically abused that woman, it would be different.....NO evidence of any violence was ever presented. NO charges were filed and the whole thing was dropped. This is the same as someone being no-billed by a grand jury and people continuing to whine about it and attack someone who was not indicted, let alone convicted. Osuna led the league in saves and some panty waists don't like it.

Osuna led the league in saves and some panty waists don't like it. It doesn't matter what we believe Osuna did or didn't do. What matters is what the media and the court of public opinion believes he did. And, unfortunately, there was enough of an issue there to warrant his uncontested suspension and lack of denials by Osuna which made him look bad. Then, as an organization, we looked bad bringing him in to the fold. Then, knowing his alleged past, one of our top FO people blurted out stupid drunken nonsense about him to the media. Which again, looks bad. The same media that we this year didn't allow in to speak to Verlander for no particularly good reason... Add that with the weird 2018 camera-on-camera spying bullshit in Cleveland, and the story from Fiers (and other unnamed sources), and now an email from a head guy telling scouts to basically see if it's possible for us to cheat (or at least push the boundaries of the rules at minimum), and you get where we're at now. And then on top of all of that nonsense, everything we've released in our official statements has either smelled like obvious bullshit, or it had to flat out be retracted because what we said was wrong. The FO brought a shitstorm on themselves and have nobody else to blame for it. That being said it brought about the most successful run in franchise history and made us a borderline dynasty-caliber team, so I don't have a major issue with it...yet. Osuna leading the league in saves doesn't matter to anybody anywhere.

One thing we know for sure..........the media doesn't blow things out of proportion or outright lie. You can believe everything the media puts out.
I am going to be very honest.........I don't care if they stole signs and I don't care how they did if it happened. There is not ONE team in either league who would not have done the same thing.....Many of them probably did. If the Astros had not started winning, this would have never been mentioned. I don't give a shit if they stole signs, and, I doubt if most Astros fans do, either. We have two AL pennants and a WS title in the last three years......not the damn Yankees.
