I'm no longer interested in football since the NFL backed the players right to insult our country at their place of employment without regard for those of us who love this country, warts and all.
ps That was a truly terrible business decision for which they will continue to pay a significant price.

I did not go to a game last year, I did not watch a game before half time started and then only twice as I was at someone's house, so I understand and agree with your position 100%.
I do however believe that players and owners will eventually come to their senses and admit they made a mistake. If they do not I am sure that my desire to watch a game I used to love to play will decline and then die. It has not as yet but my determination to not spend a dime to the nfl's benefit will remain 100% in place until such time as they do.
As an aside my kids, their spouses, and all my grandchildren were up here over Easter. As things often do the conversation swung to some politically charged areas and my son-in-law looked at me and said "for you to hold such a strong position on the Anthem issue you have to believe that Kaepernick knowingly took a knee out of disrespect for flag and country". My comment back to him was of course he did. We both said a couple more things and then I said, "just go back and research him and other things he has said in speeches, interviews, and such and then come back to me and tell me what you think". I saw him this past week and he said, "you are right about him, he is a swallow, self absorbed, stupid man". This from an uber-liberal.

The NFL Draft is 2 weeks away. Without a 1st, or 2nd round pick, it won't be easy. I am hopeful they find good players with all 3 3rd round picks...

Dez Bryant is available. A one year deal would be worth the risk involved...

If we could get Martinas Rankin, Brandon Parker, Dalton Schultz, and Tony Brown with our first four picks then I would think we had a pretty good draft. And get some edge and safety help to wrap things up of course.

if We didn’t have Deshaun Watson, I would give Kaepernick a shot here. I think the scene he’d create is not worth it as a backup QB.

He Hates Christians - STRIKE ONE!!!! 2. He Hates Americans - STRIKE TWO!!!!!! 3. He loves IDIOTS - STRIKE THREE!!!!!!!!!! No fourth strikes in this league.

It would be easy to get more than three strikes on him. He has more strikes against him than a bowling alley sees in a month.

I can see both sides. In my opinion, never discount a player who could make your team better no matter the baggage. You’re kidding yourself if you wouldn’t take Bonds, Clemens, or McGwire in their prime on the Astros.

The player deserves no respect for lying about his intention to disrespect our nation and those who serve. His history shows him to be an entitled hater. I hope he repents, but the devil has him firmly in his grasp.

If he held a press conference and told the world that he had an epiphany, recognized the error of his ways, donate his first 8 game checks to the wounded warrior foundation, (or other veteran assistance group), apologize to all the fans that he offended, and call on all his lemmings to repent as well I could see myself forgiving his actions to date but would keep him on a choke collar leash with a non guaranteed contract that was declared null should he regress into stupidville again. Short of that he can go pound sand.

The bottom line is that he must not have a professional level skill set to be an every week starting quarterback in the NFL. If he still had it, I would welcome a tryout. The same ownership against people like him had no problem letting an unethical has-been like Brian Cushing steal money with his poor play on the field for several seasons.
Now, the whole debate on whether or not Kaepernick is blackballed is a whole other discussion, which is based on conjecture since no one has proof of it.

I would take him as a back up. For him to be a starter, I believe it would take some time...

this one ended with this: Focus on Kaepernick's message and not his method My question to all those who support Kaepernick; If it is not about the national anthem, why do it during the anthem.

Having lot's of idiots acting in concert doesn't make them anything other than lemmings. A quick read through the link just confirms the protest is against America because he think America is evil unlike his friend and hero Fidel. That's why i call him an idiot and a hater. Because he is. I was actually happy when they got rid of Brown, even if he was a good tackle when he actually played. He, like Kaperknucklehead are a distraction at best and seditious at worst. I hope and pray he has a come to Jesus moment. But I don't expect it.

The irony that is Colin Kaepernick is that he was abandoned by his black father and taken in by a white couple, yet he protests white on black violence and racism.

If you include the Osweiler fiasco, McNair has mortgaged so much to get Watson there will be immense pressure to rush him back to the field. Which is the last thing you should do with an ACL injury. I'm not really optimistic on the future of our NFL team right now
