I am on board with drafting for Special Teams, but those players need to be able to do something else... Coutee looks like the slot receiver they have been wanting...

I am still waiting to see if they successfully create an O-Line through short FA deals (other people's castaways) and later drafted signings....Plus at TE as well.....if they can do it, then NFL team might explore ways of drafting OL, because usually they place such a premium at them...

The Texans had a good LT. They decided he wasn't worth a bit of a headache. Bad decision when you don't have a plan to replace him... I would expect a veteran LT to be signed at some point... I don't know that TE is going to be a priority when teams cut veterans... Maybe... They have 4 young TEs on the roster...

At the point that they traded Brown Houston's season was all but over due to Watson's injury and the injuries to the defense. In my opinion you do not avoid cutting out a cancer just because it might cause some short term discomfort.
With the first pick that they received for Brown they drafted Rankin. By all accounts he has the talent to play multiple positions on the offensive line. He is young, cheap, and controllable for 4 years and will provide the flexibility to draft the best offensive lineman available with the high second round pick that they will have this year that they also got for Brown. Seattle will not win more than 7 games this year with Brown and his baggage.

John McClain of the Houston Chronicle has the Texans 12th in his power rankings...
The Jags are a few spots higher. The Titans are a few spots lower...
All of this is based on the health of Watson...

I don’t care much for McClain the know-it-all. All those years of telling fans they don’t know what they were talking about with wanting to fire Kubiak. Finally, when he’s gone, it’s all yeah, he had to go.

Still doesn't mean the Chronicle needs to turn into a journalistic version of a Weekend at Bernie's sequel.

I got into it with Justice one time, in a baseball chat....and somehow I made reference to his hair, or lack thereof. And he boasted, by saying he gets a $50 haircut...And I retorted, 50 bucks? you are getting robbed, you are basically get charged by the strand..that would be like a $10K haircut for most people.

I can’t think of a sweeter job than being the Texans’ GM. You can whiff on draft picks, have conservative coaches who don’t go all out to win games, have losing records or not make it far into the playoffs, hold on to aging unproductive veterans for no reason, and you still have the full support of your boss. All this and the fans keep selling out games because of the fear that their football team could move to another city.
