Just like Bobby Fischer, I am looking for the next Billy Wagner. Potentially we have our next great closer going to the pen when All our starters are healthy. Javier always seems to dominate everyone in his first inning. His stuff is not that fast but it moves around like a bb in a box car Besides Stanek, I can’t name a reliever who’s throwing strikes with ease.

None of them besides Greinke have shown they can last over five innings due to pitch count.

They also need to give guys like Castro and Pressly more work to keep them engaged.

Engagement? is not work, there is plenty to do after wedding.... marriage is work...I.am going to guess Castro is the catcher and Pressely is the reliever in their relationship

What? Ummm...that makes zero F'n sense. It doesn't make a damn bit of sense. Javier could go to the pen and help. Get rid of that worthless Joe Smith. I expected Garcia to be moved out of the rotation instead of this crap. The only logical explanation is that they want him to work on something to do with mechanics. I would hope he is back sooner than later. He has looked better in his last start and all old Joe has done is shit the bed.

It's just a tactic as they shuffle players around. Javier wasn't going to pitch for few days anyways.

I doubt you see them get rid of Smith. I don't remember the last time we dropped a veteran under contract for multiple millions. Best you can hope for is that they make him a mop up guy.

Speaking of useless pitchers, I see where they put Austin Pruitt on the 60-day IL. Somebody tell us why we signed him. Wasn't he coming off an injury at the time we signed him?

I like Smith and all, but this team badly needs a reliable lefty reliever. That’s one minor trade I’d make. I’m not comfortable with Raley or Taylor in a game situation with a guy like Cody Bellinger at the plate.

I wanted Rosenthal, but, I am happy we didn't sign him. He likely won't pitch this season. I would like to re-sign a healthy Osuna. I doubt if Raley or Taylor would be brought in to pitch to Bellinger, although they may have to due to Manfred's asinine rule that a reliever has to face three hitters or finish an inning. Manfred is destroying the game and need to be replaced. I want a good lefty reliever who can come in and get a big strikeout if it's needed. But, there aren't any Billy Wagner's availabe.

Apparently Javier hasn't been a 100% so they wanted to give him a little extra time.

Astros dodged more bullets, Chris Archer and Archie Bradley both went on the IL....These were FA players we had discussions about, hoping the Astros would sign this past off-season.

There will be a lot more pitching injuries this year due to the weird scheduling and season last year. Honestly, as much as I wanted them to play last year, I think it was probably a waste of time.

Don't say that to the Dodgers. They know it's true though. 2020 was a bust. I agree. Nobody seemed to enjoy playing without fans and most players were not motivated. It was all about going through the motions and getting it done. The bright spot for us, other than going to the ALCS, was finding out about some young pitchers and Kyle Tucker getting a change to prove he can be a regular at this level. I think some of the injuries to pitchers is due to lack of conditioning. Back in the day, we didn't see close to this many injured pitchers because they were conditioned to work instead of being pampered to protect them due to big contracts.

Weather is beautiful. But the forecast is for "peaceful" protests.
