Tatis Jr. had to leave the game tonight after a hard swing-and-miss sent him to the ground in pain. It looked like he hyperextended his elbow

I'm not sure whether to start a separate thread or post here. I'll post here I guess.
Let's hear it for Brandon Bielak and his perfect 4 and a third innings Sunday. As we complain about relief pitching, let's not forget the spectacular performance he turned in. Other than the Babe Ruth 1917 game where he walked a batter and left the reliever to pitch a perfect 9 innings, there have been very few relief appearances which could top Brandon's.

You wonder how this season is going to play out for starting pitching around the league. Managers are going to have to be creative on handling a pitching staff.

1. Springer is on pace to make his season debut on Thursday. Let's see how long he can stay healthy now.
2. James Paxton is hurt AGAIN.

I think the Padres are going to be in trouble with this Tatis deal. He has a slight labrum tear as a result of his shoulder subluxation. I had the same exact thing happen in high school and it never healed. Not that I was ever close to the athlete that Tatis is. I was told at the time that it was the kind of issues that could be around forever, and so far they were right.

Last I heard Tatis wasn't opting for surgery

So if Odorizzi gets activated this homestand, who goes down?
Initially I would have said Bielak, but he has looked fantastic so far. I guess would probably be Garcia, right?

Padres owner could build a downtown stadium to get the Chargers back with the ten-figure salaries he'll be dishing out the next 3 years

Nearly 4 decades later it still gives me trouble from time to time. If the tear is in his throwing shoulder he's probably screwed, and so are the Padres.

Never mind, just read that it's his non-throwing arm. Still, it's going to be trouble for a long time.

I hurt it exactly the same way he did only I was 17 and not 22, and I actually made contact on the swing and had to run to 1B. Felt like my whole shoulder was just grinding.

Although, it never stopped Chris Carpenter.

I think Garcia goes and Bielak stays. It will be interesting to see who goes when Baez is ready........I vote to release Smith if we can't trade him.
