J.P. France had a nice start for Corpus last night. Allowed 2 runs in 6 innings, struck out 11 and walked just 1. Here is a kid who might be worth keeping an eye on. Hunter Peck. Left hander. He came on in the 8th inning for Corpus. Threw 2 shutout innings. Struck out 5, walked 1 and allowed 1 hit. I found this at his college website: ggcathletics.com/sports/baseball/roster/hunter-peck/861LHP Hunter Peck made his second appearance for Corpus last night. He pitched 2 innings, gave up no runs, no hits, struck out 4 and walked 1. In 4IP so far he has allowed no runs on 1 hit, walked 2 and struck out 9.

I wonder if Leon's struggles at the plate are related to them trying him out at short. He seems to be doing a little better over the last few games. Of course it would be hard to do worse but still why screw with the guy when there are so many other things screwing with his head.

I thought he was a professional, elite baseball player.

I thought he was a professional, elite baseball player. Getting accustomed to having to deal with the political nature of today’s baseball would strain any red blooded meat eating alpha male. He also has to deal with location displacement, cultural displacement, not hitting upper level pitchers and he comes here most likely thinking at least having the constant of life between the lines and boom here we go saying how about learning a new position. Seems to me and every management book I have ever read that he could use some constants in his life for at least a little while.

What can you tell us about this Hunt Pecker I liked these numbers from his bio: *Led the nation in 2020 with a 0.00 ERA * Posted a 15-0 record, highlighted by an 11-0 mark in 2018 * Tossed three shutouts and four complete games * Recorded 141 strikeouts in 121 innings * Tallied 85 strikeouts during 2018 campaign * Struck out 56 batters compared in two walks in 38 innings in 2020

Billy Wagner was 5’10” 179 True. That is not common anymore is my point. Seems like most pitchers are 6'3+

Ronnie Dawson continued his good start last night. He batted 5 times, walked twice, doubled and singled. His OBP through 8 games is .615.

How did it work when the Astros bought the Skeeters? Did their existing players lose their job and the Astros AAA team was brought in to replace them?

How did it work when the Astros bought the Skeeters? Did their existing players lose their job and the Astros AAA team was brought in to replace them? For these players on the fringe after MLB restructured the minor leagues across the country were released. Many are trying to catch on to these new leagues that are forming as independent leagues. As an example the NY-Penn League was dissolved and some towns that were not picked up to keep in the MLB loop formed their own league.

Do we have any infielders down there that are close to being ready to come up and help us so we can get rid of Garcia? I am not talking about Toro. LOL

I read it went 440'. Reminds me of Jimmy Wynn. Wynn started as a shortstop and went to CF.

No, I live out west of Austin on the lake. I used to be in San Antonio a lot for business and caught the aa games at WOLF STADIUM in SA.
