I am a little surprised that they chose to protect Perez. He has never played above AA and didn’t exactly own the pitchers at AA this year. I just couldn’t see a mlb team committing to keeping him on their active roster all of the 2022 season. I think he's well-regarded enough that someone might have tried to stash him. He's a guy that could move quickly next year IMO. Remember he was the 53rd overall pick even when everyone knew he was going to need Tommy John before he could even start playing. Not surprised they'd want to make sure no one snatched him. |

I am surprised that Emanuel was outrighted. Perez actually makes a little sense. Cutting Emanuel does not.

Someone should probably tell New York that the Manny Ramirez they drafted is not the Manny Ramirez they think.... It's a nice lottery ticket though. Kid has some pretty legit stuff, but no idea where it's going + injuries. I like the Garcia pickup. Dude has a pretty legit fastball, gives a different look kind of like Javier does. Pretty nice velo as well. |
