Ohtani starting tonight, MLB made it the free game of the day, massive hype, has his own headline section on MLB.com. 6 ER in 3.2 IP to the Rangers. Currently has a 7.56 ERA and a .148 average. EDIT: just struck out, make that .146. Ohtani is letting the hype get in his head.

So my wife is getting to go to a luncheon with Dusty Baker next week. Should she ask him when he's retiring or nah?

Basing decisions on who the players like has f***ed us up more than once. It gets you shitrags like Marwin and Jork.

All of these guys are fine bench players for a spot start or defensive replacement. The problem is when they try to turn them into starters rather than finding a solid real starter, and tout them as great "intangibles" guys.

Castro is gone after this season. I'm betting the plan will be to have Maldonado go roughly 50/50 with Lee next year. After that, if Lee is looking like the everyday guy they hope he is, either Maldonado becomes a true backup or he goes elsewhere. Unlikely he would get a starting job elsewhere so I'd peg him to stick around at the backup in 2024 if he doesn't retire.

Yea Lee will be here either in September or early next year for sure.
My question as we speak Do we sign Micheal Conforto and rotate that OF out alot more to save on Injury and Possibly Make it when Meyers gets back we can trade Either Siri or MCCORMICK for some Pitching help? Odi looks very bad out there. But this UMP has a bad zone.

Pedro Leon did not play in Sugarland’s last 3 games. I can’t find any explanation for why not.

McCullers moved to the 60-day IL. Earliest he's eligible to be back is June 16th.

With Verlander's last start, he more than doubled his workload from 2020!

I'm wondering what the cost of Jeff McNeil is?
I think we need some better infielder depth. A super Utility guy like McNeil could go along way.
Just food for thought
