I think the Rangers are a good fit for him once the Soto strike out gets them. They still will get Gallo unless some how there jedi mind trick GM convinces someone to give them the world for him

It was a high asking price Seattle would have sold there soul to win a game. Rangers almost had him but Seattle had the prospects.
On another note Frankie Montas is a hot commodity and the price is set

The Astros don’t hit him well and we are on a crash course to face the Yanks in the postseason.

This Mariners - Castillo trade is great for us. Look at what they gave up for him. The #18 prospect in baseball, and also their 3rd and 5th best prospect, plus a decent fourth prospect. All for 1.5 years of Castillo, who will probably not be nearly enough alone to push them over the hump.
Meanwhile this sets the market for starting pitching. Castillo was the best available, but the price on Urquidy just got a bit higher. 3.5 years of control for a guy with a career ERA of 3.66.

He had to quell a riot from his players last season over trading a top-flight closer to a division rival. Then, he sells the farm for a rental.

Luis Garcia, Chas McCormick and Solomon
For
Brian Reynolds
Is this a fair trade for both teams? And would you be for it?
Before this happens, the Astros extend Verlander to a 3 year/$105M deal
Would you still approve all the above for happening?

IMO if Chas had played full time this season, his numbers would be comparable to those of Reynolds.

I wonder if the Astros could still pull off a trade for Bell? And then still go after a reliever and a backup catcher.

It really isn’t that outlandish of a statement. Reynolds: AB 311, AVG 254, HR 15, RBI 32, SB 3, OPS 788 Chas: AB 223, AVG 233, HR 10, RBI 26, SB 1, OPS 734 That’s pretty comparable and Chas has 88 less at bats.

If that’s the case, why isn’t he playing more? The position is wide open. You and I both know that answer. I also don’t think Chas is the answer and is better as a 4th outfielder. I just wanted to show how comparable Chas’ stats are to Reynolds because I would not do that deal. The difference between Reynolds and Chas isn’t enough to trade a good 4th outfielder and a good controllable starting pitcher.

Plus he was awesome the minors.. So I think his 2022 numbers are going to be trending up. But if still not swayed Would you do it if Urquidy replaced Garcia in the deal? So Urquidy+ Chas + Solomon for Reynolds

Have you looked at a comparison of Chas’ numbers with those of Reynolds this season? I sure as heck wouldn’t give up that package for Reynolds.

Reynolds in reality is a much better baseball player. He has been injured a bit this season and the lineup he hits in absolutely sucks.
