There is no way they trade Urquidy in any package unless it's for more then just Bell. That's just dumb GMing . I dont think Click is dumb. So I would look past that. Whitley and Cerny would be fine if you want more then u need to bring more to the table Like Kiebert Ruiz. I would sure add Urquidy to that deal with out missing a beat

If we top all offers for Bell, I'm dubious the centerpiece going back would be Urquidy. I think it'd wind up being Javier, but we'll see

I'm still having trouble watching them mess with Brown and not conclude they're hellbent on making him a trade chip though

I'm still having trouble watching them mess with Brown and not conclude they're hellbent on making him a trade chip though I’ve always got the vibe that Brown is a trade chip. Otherwise, why hasn’t he been in the big leagues for us yet? It could be as Keith Law determined - the walks maybe hint that he could project as a reliever instead of a starter. With that, maybe the Astros don’t value him as much, who knows?

With that, maybe the Astros don’t value him as much, who knows? I remember Law saying the same thing about McCullers. When Lance was asked about it around the time he was called up, he said that a lot of the walks were "by design" if I remember his words correctly. I think he was hinting that they were having him work on certain pitches even though he wasn't commanding them well, or more to the point, because he wasn't commanding them well. Of course Brown could just be wild and he could indeed end up as a reliever. But he'd likely be a dominant one. You have to ask yourself if you want to give up six years of a potentially dominant closer for a few months of Bell, when there are other attractive 1B options potentially out there. Taking Christian Walker for example, even with his uncharacteristically very low BAbip so far, he's still been worth 1.9 WAR. Bell is at 2.5. If both were to keep up their production, Bell might give you an extra half a win this year and then walk, meanwhile Walker would be here for two years more afterwards.

I'm still having trouble watching them mess with Brown and not conclude they're hellbent on making him a trade chip though If they had a clear need in the rotation I might agree, but they can't call him up without losing someone. I think they've been holding out hope for Odorizzi to bounce back and be worth something, as well as using more starters to keep the workload off of guys like Garcia and Javier who have seen their workloads skyrocket suddenly over the last 24 months. Not to mention that McCullers is due back soon, which would only further jam things up. They may not want to call him up until they're sure they'll have a place permanently for him.

Waiting for them to DFA Odo is like watching Oliver Stone's The Doors and waiting for Jim Morrison to OD. It's gotta be soon; just happen already so I can move on to the next activity

From Rosenthal's article on The Athletic this morning:
"Nationals first baseman Josh Bell remains a priority for the Astros. The Nats are likely to move Bell before right fielder Juan Soto, if they move Soto at all. The Astros also are exploring the addition of another catcher as Jason Castro recovers slowly from a left-knee issue."

Names to watch besides Josh Bell.
Alek Thomas from the dbacks Lou Trivino from the A's
Astros are very very high on Castillo but may not have the assets to acquire him.
Also looking at a Catcher. No names yet but Castro may not come back after this knee thing

We know Maldy is going to get the majority of playing time at C. Pick up someone like Barnhart to backup Maldy and go after Bell. I think the Cubs are going to want way more for Contreras than the Nats do for Bell.

There was a mention of Tucker Barnhart in that article. I don't really see it. Tucker is a good defensive catcher but he hasn't been worth talking about at the plate this year.
