Unfortunately. Multiple A&M grads in my family. I almost went to Harvard. Then I discovered it was in Massachusetts. And I discovered that I could pay for an entire degree at a state university for what one year cost at Harvard. When I was in HS I tried out for Football they let me join the Junior team. We were playing the Aggies HS team and Conroe was up pretty big so the coach finally put me in. Opposite the biggest guy on the other team, he ran over me like I was am ant hill knock me back about 10 yards or more. Yes I was smallest guy on both teams. I am sure the coach told other coach not to kill me but make sure I understood football was for me. So after the game the coach came I should resign that is my take on the Aggies. Truly only weight about 110 pounds soaking wet.

Javier gets $3 million this season and a $2 million signing bonus. $7 million next year, $10 after that, and then what would be his first two free agent years will be $21 million each. But because those come as part of this deal with cheaper pre-free agent year salaries, the AAV against the cap will be $12.8 million each year.

I approve of Brown so far. I've been wondering who would be the poster to come here and complain that Javier was the least important of our extension candidates. I honestly thought it'd be you, but you managed to surprise me. Good jorb, Homestar.

Now that the Astros have won the arbitration case with Tucker I hope he is the next one to sign a longer term deal. Everyone has always said that Tucker was a guy who could develop into a guy who pushed 6.5 to 7 WAR per year. As a result he has been hesitant to sign a long term deal. It seems though he has settled into about a 5.5 type guy and it should make it easier to establish his value. Don't get me wrong Tucker is a hell of a player and we need him long term. We just need to only pay him a fair salary and not go crazy. I am hoping he sees the light now and something gets done.

Great first move by Brown. Rotation is locked down for the next three seasons.

Good jorb, Homestar. It could be very possible that Javier is actually our ace before the end of the 2023 season. JV was the Cy Young, Framber was the QS iron man/reliable playoff go to, Javier was the most dominant SP at times. He also probably turned around the WS in game 4. I agree that Javier is probably the future ace.

I don't care for players criticizing their teams and/or demanding trades to go hunt rings. That's part of what has ruined the NBA for me. It’s a league full of bitchass crybabies. I read somewhere yesterday a player who called the Rockets trash got traded back to the Rockets

Good jorb, Homestar. I think Javier is more important than Framber honestly. Same. Framber will be 32 heading into his first free agent season. I'm wondering if he'll be less willing to sign an extension; if he were to give up two free agent years like Javier, he wouldn't hit the market trying to get a big deal until age 34, and that would be tough. I feel like he's more likely to test the market.

I think I was as vocal as anyone here about us not needing Chafin, but I assumed it would be a much more significant deal than that. Wow. Would have been a great add for just $5.5 million for one year. Could there be something we don't know, like medically-wise? A lefty reliever coming off of two-straight sub-3.00 ERA seasons could only get a one-year deal? That just makes no sense.

We’ve reached Thomas’s breaking point. Taking their respective contracts they ended up signing into consideration, I would way rather have had the Astros signed Chafin over Montero.
