Taking their respective contracts they ended up signing into consideration, I would way rather have had the Astros signed Chafin over Montero. Projected ERA for next year ZiPS: Montero 3.71, Chafin 3.52 Steamer: Montero 3.67, Chafin 3.65 FGDC: Montero 3.69, Chafin 3.59 Montero and Abreu were both good acquisitions, but he likely overpaid for both of them. Hopefully Crane will learn from this. He has now hired a professional GM to do the GM job. In the future let the GM do his job without interference from himself, Bagwell, Jackson and Dusty. |

He loved Montero and I bet he went to Crane and asked him to bring his boy back. Which is fine, because Montero is not bad, but he definitely overpaid for him. Which is also fine, as long as that overpay didn't cause him to not pay someone else he would have otherwise paid. But it was definitely not a move that Luhnow or Click would have made. |

Ladies and gentlemen, drink it in. Dodgers cheated in and lost back-to-back World Series, LOL forever. The difference between this story and the Astros is that a former member of the team went on record and Houston was crucified. Now I have absolutely no doubt that everyone in MLB was cheating to one degree or another and certainly the Dodgers were, but allegations from an anonymous player from another team isn't enough to open an investigation. Or at least that's the route MLB will take. One day the undeniable truth will come out. Of course by then it'll be too late to do anything about it. |

Any updates on Yuli, What team is interested him in the most?
I know Dana stated with Abreu, the need for Yuli is really not there. For starting 1B, he is exactly correct. But if Yuli is willing to take on a diminished role, coming off the bench, plus a $3M, one year deal, then hell yes, the need is there.
I wish Dana would say if Yuli will accept coming off the bench we want him here. You never know in baseball, anything can happen. Maybe more will be needed of Yuli in 2023. So 2 million or 3 million base deal with incentives.
If you look at the free agent market there's really just s*** now... I rather go with someone that is loved by his teammates, and can be even at 39, a buy low player

We claimed Matt Gage from the Blue Jays. Lefty reliever. Had a nice season in 2022 with a small sample size.

Philly lost the WS and the SB in about 3 months. Life is good. Being an Astros fan and Cowboys fan and a guy I deal with weekly being a NY Giants Fan all is good. We both figured that Philly fans need to suffer a little longer with the way they treat fans from other teams. |
