This is such slow pitch softball nonsense.

I wanted the Eagles to win. Now, the Astros have to one-up the Chiefs. As bad as KC fans are Philadelphia fans are worse. And though I don’t pay much attention to the NFL anymore I still have a morbid interest in seeing their fans suffer (I know, I know, I’m trying to be a better person). And I have no clue how the Astros are even remotely related to whether the Chiefs won or not. So whatever you’re smoking I urge you to stop.

Obviously the fans’ opinion didn’t carry any weight with them. They're hoping to attract more casual fans with shorter games (and attention spans). They know the hardcore fans will still watch anyways.

Any updates on Yuli, What team is interested him in the most? I know Dana stated with Abreu, the need for Yuli is really not there. For starting 1B, he is exactly correct. But if Yuli is willing to take on a diminished role, coming off the bench, plus a $3M, one year deal, then hell yes, the need is there. I wish Dana would say if Yuli will accept coming off the bench we want him here. You never know in baseball, anything can happen. Maybe more will be needed of Yuli in 2023. So 2 million or 3 million base deal with incentives. If you look at the free agent market there's really just s*** now... I rather go with someone that is loved by his teammates, and can be even at 39, a buy low player As much as I like Yuli, I don’t think he is coming back. Barring a serious injury in ST, I think this will be your opening day roster of position players: Maldonado Abreu Altuve Pena Bregman Brantley McCormick Tucker Alvarez Hensley Dubon Meyers Lee or Diaz I hope Meyers shows up 100% healthy and has a great ST with the bat and the glove.

Have the Astros announced which ST games will be televised?

Six years, $25 million each would be $150 million total. That would cover his age 29-34 seasons. Who would be comfortable with that?

Framber wanting what Rodón got when he's better makes it easier to like from that perspective

Framber wanting what Rodón got when he's better makes it easier to like from that perspective If the Astros do extend Valdez.... Along with Javier, Alvarez, McCullers... Plus anyone else I'm not thinking about... What is the amount already committed to players in 2026 and 2027.

Framber's agent has said that is BS. No talks with him and Dana Brown.

Plus anyone else I'm not thinking about... What is the amount already committed to players in 2026 and 2027. As things stand right now… before extending Valdez… the Luxury Tax Payroll for 2026 is $71,133,334. The Luxury Tax Payroll for 2027 is $54,633,334. These current players become free agents in the year cited, if they are not extended: 2024 - Maton, Stanek, Brantley, Maldonado, Neris (Astros hold a $8.5 million club option) 2025 - Altuve, Bregman, Pressley (parties have a $14 million mutual option) 2026 - Jose Abreu, Montero, Framber, Tucker, Urquidy, Blake Taylor 2027 - McCullers, Dubon, Luis Garcia, Chas, Bryan Abreu

The Astros estimated Luxury Tax Payroll for 2023 is $217,995,477. The first luxury tax penalty line for 2023 is $233 million. Any extensions agreed to will almost certainly have an effective date of 2024.

We would probably have to eat some of that contract in order to get a decent return.

Luis Garcias windup is now illegal? The rock tha baby Rutine can no longer be I hope so. Dumbest-looking shit I’ve ever seen in baseball. I'm sure it started as some sort of timing mechanism with his mechanics. Having him change his wind up that he has probably used for who knows how long a month and a half before the season start is not ideal...
