I think the winter meetings are in the first week of December. December 4-7, I think. I think there are GM manager meetings going on right now... But you're right on Winter meetings, they are next month... Do we officially have a GM? Crane

Multiple reports (including SI) that Crane has offered Dusty a contract. Details unknown. Like I said…. Crane is the Astros GM. I couldn’t help but notice after Click spoke during the WS trophy presentation ceremony, he walked away from the microphone and right past Crane. Crane didn’t even acknowledge him. No handshake. Nothing. I hate to see it, but I’m afraid Click is gone. He definitely won’t be out of work for long though.

I have seen speculation that Crane may want to replace Click with Stearns. I don’t know about Stearns. He may be one of those cold numbers guys that doesn’t recognize the negative impact the wrong trade can have on team morale. When he traded Hader at the deadline it was reported that it really upset the Brewers players and things started going south.

I think Rizzo should be on our list and the Bell if all else fails revert back to Yuli or Mancini.
I think Mullins would be a great LF for us as well

I will say that I would be happy with Luhnow.

Wow, so Pena and his 4.8 WAR didn't even make it as a finalist for ROY. Not that I think he'll mind after filling his trophy case in his first year already.

Our first priority should be extending King Tucker.

Our first priority should be extending King Tucker. We have three more years of Tucker. I wouldn't say it's a huge rush.

My take on the Offsaason and I'll stick to it.
Sign Benintendi to play LF On base machine doesn't SO alot
Sign Bell to play 1B. POWER to protect Yordan.
Try to resign Verlander at all cost, but don't over due it.
I would be ok with Yuli off the bench and Brantley the same in spot starts but not pushing it.
Vazquez would be an awesome resign idk if he would like to back up Maldy but he could DH and play 1B every now and then.
Montero is gonna take the cash and run.

He may be one of those cold numbers guys that doesn’t recognize the negative impact the wrong trade can have on team morale. When he traded Hader at the deadline it was reported that it really upset the Brewers players and things started going south. Crane makes me not worry about that too much. Remember guys were upset with inaction at the 2017 deadline, and Crane gave the go-ahead for Luhnow to get Verlander the next month on the waiver trade. And of course now we know just recently that Crane nixed that Contreras deal; Dusty made it sound like the reason they did so was because Dusty told Crane he didn't want to upset people by bringing in a catcher that would force him to play someone over Maldonado. I think also that Crane's firing of Luhnow was largely a P.R. play and he would be wary of allowing another GM of his to make moves that would build up another "cold numbers guy" reputation.

Our first priority should be extending King Tucker. We have three more years of Tucker. I wouldn't say it's a huge rush. The closer a guy gets to free agency, the less pressure he feels to sign because the fewer seasons without injury he has to get through before the big payday. I'd suggest they go ahead and lock him up if they want to retain him.

Our first priority should be extending King Tucker. I hope we can sign Tucker to an extension. If we can’t, he will be eligible for free agency in 2026. The Astros used their #1 and #2 picks in the 2022 Rule 4 draft on outfielders Gilbert and Melton. They both have a MLB ETA of 2025. I’m wondering if there are doubts in the front office as to the team’s chances of extending Tucker.

Reminder as well on Brantley; remember that the shift is dead now. If we can get a lefty who hits .300 with the shift for a cheap one-year deal to play in the now-shiftless league, I'm all for that.

Things that hopefully we will know about soon Dusty: extended or retired? Click: extended or replaced? JV: does he actually take the $25 million option, renegotiate with the Astros or plays the FA market? Brantley and/or Yuli: Will the Astros re-sign them? Will Smith: What's taking so long on the buyout? Jason Castro: was he actually allowed to go to the parade?

I hope Dusty isn't trying to get more money than he's worth... He was gifted a WS ring already.

JV chances on exercising the $25M option? I put it at 5%. Would you take the over or under on that.
