If we’re feeling bad about our offense, the Rangers with RISP are 1 for their last 28.

Well boys and girls…or…whatever anyway step one done. Division champs. Getting some rest should be good but I gotta admit I’m not optimistic about a deep run. Of course if Vasquez has rediscovered his Invisaball and Framber keeps seeing the psychiatrist and J. Abreu can keep doing good things we might make a run. Funny things happen in the postseason.

If any team needs rest, it’s ours. The bullpen has done so much heavy lifting.

Regardless of what we think of Dusty, at least Scott Service is not our manager.

The team looks confident and the pitching (especially the bullpen) looks ready. Maybe they'll continue to surprise us!
What a finish to the season.

I did not think that they had it in them. Glad they proved me wrong. Now hopefully they can get to 102 wins. At least they have a chance to still.

So Verlander ended up 7-3 with a 3.31 ERA in 11 starts for us, including two crucial must-win games against Seattle and Arizona (13 IP and only 1 Run allowed). Hopefully he stays hot for the postseason. A pennant or a championship will prove it a successful trade, imo.

Then why do the fans boast about how we don’t spend as much as other teams?

Great Guy you are Umm...how did you get that out of what I said? A lot of people are down on the trade because of the prospects we gave up. I'm making the point that I think he has been good for us, and another WS appearance would cement that it was a good trade to make.

Then why do the fans boast about how we don’t spend as much as other teams? What he does with his own personal money is none of your business, and none of Brian's. He isn't required to commit his entire fortune to the Astros just to please you wankers.

Then maybe they should root for another team Maybe the Rangers or LA. How many WS did the Astros win before Crane owned the team. Maybe they should be asking that instead of being Jealous of his money

He isn't required to commit his entire fortune to the Astros just to please you wankers. He can spend his money any way he likes and I never said otherwise. My problem is when he isn't honest about it. I have no problem if he comes out and just says "there's only so much I'm willing to spend because I'm trying to maintain a certain margin of profit." It's when he, and the owners in general, make it sound like it's to the organization's and the fan's best interests to not spend, I.E. "you don't want to get locked into one of these long-term deals, because..." Because why? In the past, there was a limit you could spend before losing draft picks. In that case, you did need to limit spending for the sake of the organization and the fans. But that limit was removed in the last CBA. Now the only advantage gained from not spending is to the owner. If they want to be honest about that and just say they don't want to spend more than X, then that's totally fine by me. But the rhetoric hasn't changed along with the CBA; if Tucker walks, it will be sold by Crane as an unfortunate necessity to maintain the organization's health and competitiveness long-term, and the reality is that payroll no longer has any bearing on that other than artificial limits imposed by the owner's own personal desire.

Maybe the players get a Little Caesar’s pizza party.
