Wonder how many writers will not have him on their HOF ballot? Too many.

there is going to come a point that will embarrass those Writers when it is said and done. Altuve will have broken so many records that will be impossible to ignore.

*He also hit the 50 WAR mark for his career (at least temporarily). For comparison, Biggio had 65.5 and Bagwell had 79.9. For comparable 2B in the HoF, Sandberg had 67.9 and Alomar had 67. If he stays healthy, he's trending to be right around that same range by the end of his extension (depending on his defensive metrics fluctuate).

Altuve is off to an amazing start this season. Is this the best start to a season that he's had with us? Jose Altuve is already off to a better start than his 2017, when he won MVP Right now, he is batting .382 with 5 HR, 7 RBI and an OPS of 1.183 Back in 2017, through the first 17 games, he was batting .303 with 0 HR, 5 RBI and an OPS of .737

Altuve is off to an amazing start this season. Is this the best start to a season that he's had with us? If he finishes the month like this, easily. The last time he had a start even close to this was 2016.

RBIs? Hits for sure. He'll reach 1000 RBI in 2026 or 2027, and HR/Doubles in 2027. Runs in 2027 or 2028. The Hits will be the tough one mostly because of the wasted 2020 season. Honestly he may need one more short extension to get that unless he stays super healthy and productive. Although he is easily on pace to reach 2200+ Hits this season at this rate. If not for 2020, he might have reached 2300-2350 this year.

HRs less than 60 needed.

I want him to knock out the 300 SB, and I'm not so much focused on the other numbers this as much as I'd like to see him get a couple more awards (AS and SS). (And obviously continue his and the team's postseason success.) If he can retire a 3000/300/300 .300+ and be the postseason leader in HR, even the haters would surely have to put him in the 1st ballot.

Despite a short slump in Washington, Altuve is still:
1st in Hits 1st in Doubles 1st in AVG 1st in OPS 1st in OPS+ 1st in Total Bases
And, so far, he's on pace to have a better defensive season than the last couple years.

Could Altuve get to 400 SBs before his career is over? If he upped his attempts (and maintained his recent success) for this year and next, he'd have a shot. I wouldn't bet on it though. I bet he ends up around 350.

The way we hit into DP’d and also drive in runs with a runner at second base, I would hope he steals more often. We might see more with Bregman hitting 2nd instead of Yordan. Bregman takes more pitches and hits into more GIDPs generally, and I would bet having someone between him and Yordan will have him feeling more confident about risking it.
