I’m shocked that Montgomery hasn’t been signed yet. He’s the same age as Snell and doesn’t bitch about going out there for the 7th inning. The Rangers would not have won a championship without him last season. He’s just as surgical in his approach and can pitch a complete game if need be. I don’t believe he costs a draft pick either. They're all asking too much. Boras is still trying to get every veteran free agent massive deals when teams have mostly finally learned. You pay them big young...not when they're 30+.

I think that diagnosis probably puts the Snell thing to bed. Seems unlikely he would miss more than a month or so and I doubt they want to go past another, and possibly even two more, luxury tax lines. If they go past two more, their top draft pick this year drops 10 spots and into the second round, with a commensurate drop in draft money as well.

If anything, that makes them need a starter even more.

Javier got blown up. Why is this rotation so talented but so shaky...

Snell to the Giants, fortunately Crane reigned himself in.

Teams often report pitcher injuries as "forearm strains." Shortly after, you hear the pitcher had Tommy John surgery.

I don’t see the point of coming at a CYA winner with $25 million a year. Like why even bother?

Ohtani's best friend/translator stole $4.5 million from him to make illegal bets. Ohtani definitely not involved though, just in case anyone was wondering.

I believe any signing, even one that small, will shoot them past the next luxury tax threshold. Crane probably doesn't want to do that for a backend starter.
