I hope they have a short leash on Montero. If he sucks in the early season like he has in spring training (more walks than Ks) than I hope they just release him like the Dbacks did with MadBum last year.

It's funny, but it could also end up being true. The Orioles went 101-61 last year and they haven't even called up arguably the best prospect in baseball yet. They're about to be sold to a rich new owner. It's probably going to be impossible for the Astros to remain the best team in the AL, possibly starting as early as this year. |

Granted it was against our mediocre AAA team, but Blanco just whiffed 10 in 4.1 IP. Aside from some hung sliders, he looked great. Really hope he can break out and be a bullpen weapon for us, especially with Montero looking shaky yet again.

Montgomery's deal: one year $25 million, second year option for $20 million or $22.5 million if he makes 18+ starts this year. So less than $50 million guaranteed. ROTFL Boras.
