Ash what could the Astros actually afford to give the Blue Jays for two years of VG. Last names can’t be Melton or Matthews. It's going to be one or both of them. Or possibly Luis Baez, who might have a higher ceiling than either of them and is doing well as a 20 year old in A+ already. They just have to stop though. This team is well over .500 in games that Jose Abreu has not been on the roster for. They need to quit mortgaging the future for bandaids. Vlad will be a free agent in a couple of years and they can sign him then if they want...except they won't because Crane refuses to do large deals. Which means they won't extend him, either, which is the one way dealing prospects for him could make some sense.

Yeah as much as I'd like to have Vlad Jr. I feel like we need to be a little smarter with our prospects for now. Give Brown a chance to work on the farm system a little more.
That being said, we have to get some pitching help somehow, and we need to try and upgrade 1B somehow even if it's someone lesser than Vlad. Dubon needs to be freed up to play other positions. Maybe LaMonte Wade from SF?

Maybe LaMonte Wade from SF? A Christian Walker or Pete Alonso rental would be much more to my liking. I have to say though, Singleton is at a 110 wRC+. That is honestly just not awful at all. He's 2% worse than the Mariners' Ty France, 5% worse than Matt Olson in Atlanta. You might only get a 10-15% improvement on Singleton's production in a trade, and if he ends up tapping into some more power, the gap will close even more. Since resources are thin, and the team has the most runs scored in the division even with the Abreu catastrophe and all the other struggles, I could see an argument made for just going after pitching. If Singleton has a 110 wRC+ and he's the worst or second-worst hitter in your lineup, an upgrade there would be a luxury rather than a necessity IMO.

Dubie also deserves credit for his hustle trying to be a patch there. He's become the new Marwin

I know a day off is good for the team, but they had one on Monday too!
Is there anything worth watching tonight?

I don’t even want to know what it would cost to land Vlad Jr. We could start with Kemp and Marisnick.

I think the page might be broken on my browser, I can't see where a trade is proposed there. White Sox send Crochet / SP controllable until 2027 For Dezenzo, Cole and Kouba. I say heck yes. I’m sure the Astros would have to offer more/better

No way the Dems don’t make Biden step down….but if they don’t, it’s 2020 all over again: Vote for Trump, Vote Against Trump (Biden)…except this time there will be also: I’m not Trump or Biden (Kennedy) If Biden is somehow still on the ticket:47% Trump, 43% Biden and 10% Kennedy. Any decent Republican runner would have gotten 66%+ against Biden. Trump is just hated that much, so people will just vote against him. If Biden somehow pulls off a reelection, then sometime in his 2nd term, it will be a “Weekend at Bernie’s”. And the debate will be if Biden is dead or just “mostly dead.”

Only way Dems make Biden step down is if he agrees. If he doesn't, anyone partially-educated has to suspect at that point Jill is actually the president, and she won't let go the throne
