To build on Todd’s point, at least the minor leaguers who get called up because they keep ignoring the farm will finally get some time off. García had TJS, Brown continues to fail, and France regressed to the mean. Enough working them like mules and get some blue chip prospects for a change. They brought Dana Brown in because of the work he did for the Braves’ farm. Time to get going on that or leave. Trading top prospects for Verlander and Graveman while remaining noncommittal on guys like Bregman and Tucker isn’t looking like the new GM is showing a clear path to anything besides cellar dwelling. In an ideal world, fans would've liked Brown taking command and control. Running things using Anthopoulos' models and principles, Atlanta being a top organization and all. The reality is Crane's been in charge since the scandal, and he was looking for a yes man. He was tired of butting heads with the previous GM You can't do much with your hands tied.

I married a girl that went to Alief (Elsik) Condolences from a Hastings grad. Todd is Alief too (Elsik). Me, Klein, the original. Not the Oak, Forrest, Pine, Cain, Collins, or any others that have come afterwards

As someone who played tennis against Hastings and Elsik (and got whooped), I would agree that Hastings looked more ghetto

Maldonado now has more HRs than Chas, Bregman, Abreu, and Singleton combined.

Per multiple sources, Joey Loperfido is being called up and will join the team in Houston for Tuesday’s game.

So who goes down or to the IL or released? Does Chaz have options left? He's, unfortunately, the weakest link in the OF right now.

Aside from drawing walks he hasn't done anything, and he and Loperfido are both LH-hitting first basemen. Hard to see them carrying a third 1B. They'll probably DFA him and we'll see if he's willing to just hang in Sugar Land or wants to try to catch on with another club.

So Sherwin is right so far. Pena's defense has been quite bad this year so far. He's currently at -.4 dWAR on the year. He had a 2.15 average in his first two years.

He just gives up on grounders hit to his right. You see it time and time again. I think his future position is 2B. He’s no Correa with the arm.

It's interesting that they've basically given up on Julks after they supposedly weren't interested in trading him last season... Was he just a Dusty guy?

This seems big: José Abreu is not with the Astros, GM Dana Brown said. Both sides decided that Abreu will be optioned to West Palm Beach effective tomorrow “to get some at-bats and his timing back right.”

So Abreu & Kessinger off the big league roster? I assume that means Hensley is also coming up, right?
