I do not appreciate my children seeing that. That is not what I want them seeing. What a role model. Pathetic! i agree......he should be gone asap. I suspect this is one of those instances where, if it is determined that Giles was; in fact, directing his comment to AJ, Luhnow will talk to some of the established leaders of the team (Verlander, Altuve, McCann for sure) and get their input on what the guys in the clubhouse think of Giles and his effect on team unity. If Squatty doesn’t get a thumbs up from those guys, he will likely be dealt the first time Luhnow has the opportunity to deal him. |

Can you imagine what would have happened if a pitcher had sad “F’k you” to Billy Martin or Lou Pinella when one of those guys pulled them out of the game? You seemed convinced that comment was directed toward AJ. I do not. Other than just wanting a reason to bench Giles, why do you think his tirade was directed at anyone other than himself? Without getting into semantics of lip reading and command of the expletitive aspects of the English language, just who would Giles be directing the "F" to? Himself? I guess "F Me" just doesn't have the same panache as quick self punch to the face.  |

Rumors have it that the Orioles are looking for young ML ready pitching in their trade talks with other teams. Giles and Baltimore seems like a good match.

Rumors have it that the Orioles are looking for young ML ready pitching in their trade talks with other teams. Giles and Baltimore seems like a good match. Giles and anybody seems like a good match. Throw in a couple of prospects and get Adam Jones. |

I wasn't aware Giles had options to be honest Holy cow! I just checked Roster Resource and Giles is not listed as being a Astros bullpen pitcher, but Perez is! My guess is that it was determined that Squatty’s comment was made to Hinch. |

Giles for Givens is a fair trade in my opinion. But maybe package him with some prospects for Britton would be better.
Anyway, I think Cionel is an upgrade oven Giles. Let's see what C Perez can do in the bigs.

If I understand the option rules correctly, since Giles debuted in MLB over 2 years ago, he would have had to be placed on revocable waivers for 48 hours and go unclaimed before he could be optioned to the minors. That tells me that the decision to option him was already under consideration before he made his comment last night because he would have had to be placed on waivers at least 48 hours before he was optioned today. Had he pitched lights-out last night and there been no issues, the team could have revoked the waivers and nobody would have ever known the difference. The meltdown last night was probably the deal breaker. |

I thought Peacock had potential to close but that slider seems to have deserted him right now. Too many home runs allowed. |

Other than just wanting to be different, why do you think it was not directed at Hinch? You have to be blind to think that was directed at anyone other than Hinch. He is known for punching himself, how do you know it was not directed at Bad Giles. |
