I think that is the main reason he's gone and I hope this spells the end of his time with the Astros. He never panned out as a closer. He tanked the end of last season and has never recovered.........good riddance. Hopefully we get a legit closer from someone. I haven’t really paid attention to those available. Verlander went from pissed at Stassi, to happy he was going to get a win, to pissed he lost his win, to amazed and amused that they managed to win. Why do you say Verlander was pissed at Stassi? True, they are still learning to work together, but, I saw nothing to make me think Verlander was pissed at him. If he was going to be pissed at anybody it should have been at Hinch for putting that squatting piece of crap in the game to cost him a win. He was pretty demonstrative with his actions towards Stassi on the mound. |

Rumors have it that the Orioles are looking for young ML ready pitching in their trade talks with other teams. Giles and Baltimore seems like a good match.  |

Reading the yahoo sports story on Giles, the picture at the bottom of the story when AJ is getting the ball from Giles, the two aren’t even looking at each other. Giles needs trading.
What will he punch after that demotion?😳

Good article. Hinch isn't known for being a disciplinarian since he doesn't throw players under the bus in the media. Tough wire to walk and I commend him for it

I have watched this from all angles and still do not understand how the ball just magically slips out of his hand right before he tags him like that. It's as if the Gods intervened. Perhaps Angels in the Outfield

You seemed convinced that comment was directed toward AJ. I do not. Other than just wanting a reason to bench Giles, why do you think his tirade was directed at anyone other than himself? Other than just wanting to be different, why do you think it was not directed at Hinch? In Marshall’s defense, I cannot think of a reason why Giles would say that to Hinch. Hinch and Giles already probably share the knowledge that he sucks as a reliever. |

Let's at least give White 50 PAs before we condemn him back to Fresno. He's been a dynamite hitter in the minors since 2015 and hit very well with the Astros in 2017. He's pressing his last few games so the results are not there. But he's a good hitter if you can get him into a groove. White hasn't been cussing out the manager. I can't compare him to Giles in any way, shape, or form. |

I can't compare him to Giles in any way, shape, or form. I usually give player the benefit of the doubt but I just do not like White for whatever reason. I see him as a filler on the roster and not a contributor. Marisnick at least has value in the OF and speed (even though I hate it when Hinch throws him in the starting lineup for 3 to 4 consecutive days in a row). The advancement of Tucker will keep Marisnick on the bench for the most part but I'd rather see JD Davis up again than White. I this Davis could be a power type hitter and better in clutch situations. But I'm sure White is there for the trade deadline which I am in favor of. |

I have seen all of White I need to see......he has yet to do anything to prove he belongs on the team. Last night was his worst yet.......he is terrible.

You read me correctly. I'd said that despite him being quite good, hes not a player I like. But his performance is winning me over. He will never be my favorite, but I do like how hes playing. I’ll tell you one thing I don’t like about him - all that Skoal he loads up under his bottom lip. It’s not a good look, especially when he takes time to spit while being interviewed after the game. |
