I checked out the box score of the Rangers/Indians game last night. When did the Padres throw Hand and Cimber to the Rangers? That seemed to be quiet news. Cleveland acquired Hand, not the Rangers.

Add Giles to a list that we need to get out of the organization and try to make some team take this nut off our hands.

Cimber will end up being the more productive pitcher for the Indians than Hand.

Kind of surprised me that all they got was one prospect and gave up Hand and Cimber or something like that another good controllable reliever for one guy. A good guy but one guy. San Diego now has 9 of the top 100 prospects.

Yeah, typo. Surprised there wasn’t much fanfare with that move. I thought Mejia was the Indians’ catcher of the future. I’m also surprised Cimber was a throw-in.

Bukauskas would be a sell low, real low kind of guy right now. I do not think I would let him go quite yet as he was in a car wreck this spring and it has set him back again. Starting to come around but nothing like a top 15 guy right now.

I wonder if the Astros were in at all on Hand/Cimber?

What about Eddie Rosario and Fernando Rooney For Bukouskas, Perez, White, Davis and Harris There's no way Minnesota would trade Rosario to us unless Tucker was in the deal. He's too cheap, he's got too many arb-controlled years, and he's already established himself as a ML ballplayer. He'd probly cost Whitley too since we would've landed Machado for Tucker and Whitley

I wonder if the Astros were in at all on Hand/Cimber? I have a feeling the Pads wanted to get their fingers into m240's Golden 7 Prospect Cookie Jar. You have one of the best screen names here. And in this case it aptly fits.

It is hard to believe that we will make a trade that would include any of our top 7 prospects Whitley Tucker Alvarez Perez Beer Martin Stubbs That still leaves a lot of trade pieces: Kemp White Davis Reed Armenteros Martes Paulino Deetz Straw Quintana Bielak,Solis, Soloman, Sandoval, Hernandez We should be able to cobble enough value out 7 or 8 of that second group to land Britton and Castellanos. I'd pass on Castellanos if it would cost Kemp. Since he's a rental we might be able to swing thatHe does have another year after this one.

Okay. I wasn't saying Gurriel wasn't doing okay. He is. But it's one of our weaker positions overall if we wanted to upgrade. Weaker than LF? No, I mentioned them both as upgrade areas.

Britton and Castellanos are not building blocks though so if you look through that list there is some intriguing talent there.

I like Kemp too but his arm limits him too much. Maybe Kemp and Alvarez aren't enough to land Merrifield and Castellanos. It seems from the news reports everyone wants a top 10 prospect in order to deal with us. If we're going to have to lose Tucker or Whitley, a midseason bat trade would have to be a blockbuster in order for it to make sense for us

Castellonos would be interesting add. I even think he would resign just to stay. Heard he was friends with Verlander? ? As long as the price wasn't to high I would kick the tires

Only trade possibility who fits that description is Choo, and there's no way TEX would help us unless they're getting a top 10 prospect
