We have the best stocked farm system in the majors.......Luhnow can make the moves necessary to make us the favorite without mortgaging the farm. I just want it to get done. I keep going back to last year when it was obvious we needed bullpen help. Luhnow waited and waited and then all he got was Liriano and Clippard. Neither were improvements over what we had..Neither were factors in the post season. If you don't make a move to improve, why make one? If had not gotten Verlander at the last minute, we would still be looking for our first World Series title. He made that move and then made us much better by getting Cole. We have the best rotation in baseball, but, our bullpen is not what we need if we are to repeat.He MUST get a deal done.

someone top 20, 30 or 40 they could offer ranked between Whitley and Alvarez, then we might have a shot. But I just don't see us winning the Britton sweepstakes
unless we include Whitley, cause there's 5 teams interested in Britton and none of them can top that in a trade package

Hope I'm wrongI hear you, but there's no way Baltimore would even fathom getting Whitley or Alvarez for a banged up rental. Yesterday's game showed why we need Britton and any prospect (not on the MLB roster currently) outside of those two should be fair game. Throw in some ready made players like Davis, Kemp or somehow Giles and Reed would be phenomenal. |
