I think the pushed back all-star break is wearing the starters out a little.

There has to be some predictability going on with the pitching or defense. Some of these rallies are almost effortless.

I think the pushed back all-star break is wearing the starters out a little. In general, they seem to be wearing out at about 90 pitches by this point in the season. I can't understand why Hinch can't adjust the clipboard on account of that fact.

Hopefully after the all-star break they'll get some of the guys in for some 10-day DL stints and let them get some extra rest.

I can't stand Matt Olson's stance. Almost as bad as White's.

Great work, McHugh. Man I wish he could have made the all-star team.

Altuve is getting pitched very tough this series. He's chasing some, but they're also making good pitches.

Yuli has noticeably been showing more patience recently. I will be interested to see how it affects his OBP over the course of a month.
The lack of walks was always putting him in this odd situation of being a .300 hitter with only an average OPS near .750.

Marshall does remind us every day that the Astros' record when scoring 4 runs or more is very good... that mission is accomplished. Now the Stros need to get a few insurance runs off this humdrum bullpen.
Astros have had Treinin's number so far.

Casilla's been surrendering a lot of walks this year. Maybe the Astros will get to him.

it would be interesting to know whether the shift has saved the Astros more runs than it has cost them today.

may as well give Smith the 8th inning. He did a lot of 2-inning appearances last year. It was one thing I really liked about him.
Devo has been a bit shaky last few times out, may be a good idea to use him sparingly till after the break.

is getting thrown out at second slightly better than getting thrown out at third the way he did the other day?

This is the way Jake should be used. late in games for his defense, to protect a lead. he shouldn't be starting, esp with Tucker and Kemp deserving time.

I'd have kept Smith in there, until the end of the 8th or until he reached 30 pitches

this was happening to Devo his last outing. Some scary hard contact that luckily went straight to fielders. Today the luck has run out.
Better get Rondon up ASAP
