Cole's night should be through. Hinch will leave him in and the game will get away from us.

We will see Springer leading off even if he doesn't another hit for a month.

we should be happy that Zunnio was up there as he subscribes to the Gurriel school of swinging at stuff outside the zone.

82 pitches through 7. not even 12 pitches an inning. Incredible that guys who get paid to play the game know so little about what they are doing. White is a hitter coach, sorry, pay attention to the details. by the Statcast definition of a "barreled ball" (i.e., a ball hit on the nose), White has tonight's only barreled ball for the Astros. It traveled 378 ft but straight out to CF for an out. 64% hit probability but they had him played well. If all the Astros hitters were hitting like White, Paxton would have lasted 5 innings max.

Once again, ask yourself: Did anything good happen in pitches 91+ for this starter? Yes he recorded two outs, but he also allowed two baserunners (equivalent to a 3.00 WHIP). This is simply too late in the season to be pushing to starters up to 100 pitches. Save those arms for the postseason. And save some Runs Against in the regular season for crying out loud.

Of all the regulars playing right now, I am the most disappointed in Springer. It is obvious that he will never be a leader or able to take a team and carry it for a few games. He should have been lowered in the batting order weeks ago. Leadoff batter not getting on base at a sustained rate. Him getting the most at-bats and failing at it.

Hinch pays attention to the raw numbers, not how they relate to specific people. Verlander and Cole are power guys with movement on their stuff. When they get strung out they might get through that inning but it damages them for the next. If they catch a break and our guys give him some time for his body to process the latic acid created by the previous inning then maybe no damage happens. Lately though our guys are more concerned with swinging like a drunked monkey than playing team ball.

At this rate someone should tell Hinch (Luhnow) to play Tucker, Kemp, White every frigging game. The old regime isn't getting it done. Marwin, Reddick, Springer, Gattis

Colome gets pretty wild after about 20 pitches so there's a good chance here to get him out of his comfort zone.

Right on schedule, Colome can't locate pitches as his pitch count approaches 20
Very vulnerable position for him right now. Time for Bregs to strike.

good at bat for George. He recognized what they were trying to do to him and held up. There is hope for us yet.

the last time Colome threw that many pitches in an inning (only happened once this year), he gave up two runs to Boston.

How does a team go collectively into a major slump like this? No one hitting or scoring. Why not play the trio to see if they are ready for next year.

Well they get paid to play the game too. Dude made a better pitch than I thought he would. Oh well, now we are down to Gurriel, Gattis and White.
