The video makes all the difference, of course. No video exists of Osuna slapping his girl. Being he didn’t contest the suspension it doesn’t help his image. If I were accused and didn’t do it I would contest it. |

Many of these abuse charges are filed out of spite and the guy is not guilty of anything other than wanting to leave the woman or refusing to bow to her wishes. Guys get charged with rape when they are totally innocent so the female can attempt to get a monetary settlement out of court. As Luhnow said, Osuna has been punished and has fulfilled all requirements placed on him. I am OK with giving him a shot.......If it works out, we are the big winners. So you are certain he's going to be sharp after being on the shelf since May? IMO... I am a adherer to the theory when there's smoke there's fire. What other demons does he have lurking in that head besides "alleged" domestic abuse (heavy on the "alleged" for you coach). I don't like this move for club house chemistry ......ONE BIT!!!! If Osuna comes in, behaves himself, and produces, everybody in that clubhouse will be happy. Time will tell. I am not saying this was the best move we could have made, but, getting Osuna for Giles was at least an even deal. |

Legit closer with control over him for two more years, for a headcase, a PED-abuser, and a good-not-amazing prospect. I just think its going to come back to hurt us some from a clubhouse standpoint. I don't mind being a little bit more of a "bad guy" in the league if we're successful, but, if all this stuff is true, our FO is being wishy washy with it's stance on domestic abuse. |

I think you were right to bring up the Danry Vasquez incident earlier. Players were held accountable over that. To come back now with Osuna and say you can have a zero-tolerance policy, and also have an opportunity to give people second chances when they have made mistakes in the past in other organizations, undercuts the credibility of Verlander and the other pitcher who tweeted about Vasquez after he was cut loose

At least Verlander said that things would be kept behind closed doors as they were given more information and got to know Osuna. I get that people make mistakes. I get that different cultures have varying degrees of what is acceptable. I get that people can have emotional issues. I get that people deserve second chances and are innocent until proven guilty. But....there are a lot of players that will have a hard time looking past all of that. Giles beat himself...but at least he didn't beat a woman (that we know of). |

I've said repeatedly it's still just alleged, but there have been no denials from anybody. If he were completely innocent I have a feeling more would have come out by now. |

Trade deadline is over. No trade for more offense? I guess 9 runs in the last 5 games and 3 of them against a horrible Rangers pitching staff didn’t convince Luhnow to add a hitter or 2.
I’m still thankful to have seen the Astros win the WS. Always will be. I’m fine if that’s all I see. At least I got to see one of them.

Ther talk was always that Luhnow and Co. didn't want DB on the team. They trade for one that had an incident and its been nothing but I can't believe this and that. Wait till the full story comes out if it does. Like I said there are always two sides to these type stories. There is never an excuse for Violence in any Domestic argument it happens every day by both sides. The quick story was His Wife told him if hit me again I am going to stab you. He raises his Hand, She stabs Him. Who knows what led up to the stabbing. I knew both pretty well and She was no Angle either. |
