Not going to happen with this offense.

Gurriel if you swing at everything someone throws you, why would they throw you something juicy to hit. Think about it.

5 games in a row they haven't scored more than two runs in a game.

these guys are just not playing like a team. Incredible. Giving another team hope is not a good strategy.

Another great pitching effort wasted by our pathetic offense. Tonight we saw what happens when a very good pitcher like Paxton takes the mound against a AAA lineup.'
Hopefully, Correa is about ready for his rebab assignement. and that Altuve can come off the DL Friday. We also can hope that Luhnow gets us a bat before 3:00 PM tomorrow. If we get that bat and get Correa and Altuve back, we can send Davis, White, and Tucker back to Fresno. Tucker will be much better than the other two but he isn't quite ready to be our regular LF.

from the beginning of the year, several Players have been very lackadaisical with their play and at-bats. Pitching was winning all those games. Now the pitching has hit a rough spot the offense can't pick them up. I think Hinch has to reevaluate old Clippard and get a new one with different names in certain spots and others missing altogether.

I see we are going to see Pressley He is better than Harris or Devenski. I hope Harris is released or put on the DL when they activate Osuna on Sunday.,

Can't blame the kids when the Grown Ups were just as bad if not worse because they have the experience and should be able to produce something.

Reddick only had ONE at bat and he made Colome throw 10 pitches so I wouldn't include him......Springer, Marwin, Kemp, and Davis all were pathetic tonight.

Yes, some of today's best ABs were by Reddick and White. I said before the game that I thought Reddick should start, given his success against LHP this year and the fact that he is due for his luck to change. He, Gattis, and White all put good charges into the ball late in the game and had Reddick been in the lineup all night, maybe the Astros would have scratched out a run or two.
When the team as a whole makes the opposing pitcher work hard, it can crack things open and instead of scoring just one run, you put up a crooked number. Had Bregman not choked against Colome, game could have been different. That was the only time the Astros made a Mariners pitcher struggle.

KEmp has hit poorly against lefties all season long. I really didn't think he needed to play OF. At most, he should have played 2B and maybe Segura wouldn't have gotten that infield hit.

Maybe the veterans think that by playing poorly this week, they can force Luhnow's hand into trading for a premium player.

Bad thing is: I am not so sure the front office will make a meaningful trade at all despite our injuries and lack of production lately. They most likely will be satisfied with this returning World Series roster (when healthy) and not make a knee-jerk trade for a big bat by any means.
Good thing is: Despite losing 5 in a row right now and Seattle back on our heels, we will still rebound and win this division. Staying ahead of the Indians will be the only focus as we will have home field advantage over everyone but the Red Sox. Our team is slumping but we did the same thing in August last year.

these guys are just not playing like a team. Incredible. Giving another team hope is not a good strategy. They’re not playing well as individuals either. If they keep sleep walking through every game Oakland will take the division going away and the Astros won’t make it past the wild card game. The team motto should be changed from “Never Settle” to “One and Done.”

People, keep in mind that they played like this last season WITH a full squad and came back to play their best baseball of the year (except Reddick and especially not Giles).

Yes, but they were a hungry young team last year. I don’t sense that hunger for a championship in them this year. I hope I’m wrong.

To me, the relief pitching isn’t the issue with the Astros. It’s lack of hitting. Down years after career years by Marwin and Reddick to name two. Injuries to Altuve and Correa. I won’t be shocked if Altuve is out longer then the 10 day DL. And what were his test results? What were Correa’s test results? I’ve never read them.

People deserve a second chance and I imagine Luhnow did a lot of checking before making this deal. If he doesn't work out, we can cut him loose. In any case, we got rid of ken Giles and that is a big plus. If Osuna works out, we have a top closer for next to nothing.

Seems like quite a bit for a player that was potentially going to get released.

I consider a nut job reliever who chokes under pressure and then curses the manager when removed from a game, a minor league pitcher with little to no control who serves a PED suspension and another minor leaguer for a 23 year old guy who has been a lock down closer a great deal.......two of the three we traded were guys we would have practically given away. I don't know much about Hector Perez so I wont' comment on him. But, getting Osuana is a plus for our side. I think being out of Toronto and on a winner and being around the class guys we have will have the right influence on him. Plus, he will not want to cross a guy like Justin Verlander. I think he is so thankful for the opportunity that we may have hit the jackpot. If not, we got rid of a couple of assholes.

Guys get charged with rape when they are totally innocent so the female can attempt to get a monetary settlement out of court. As Luhnow said, Osuna has been punished and has fulfilled all requirements placed on him. I am OK with giving him a shot.......If it works out, we are the big winners.

So you are certain he's going to be sharp after being on the shelf since May? IMO... I am a adherer to the theory when there's smoke there's fire. What other demons does he have lurking in that head besides "alleged" domestic abuse (heavy on the "alleged" for you coach). I don't like this move for club house chemistry ......ONE BIT!!!!

No video exists of Osuna slapping his girl.
