I only rejoined a message board because my wife thought it would be fun for me again to post with some people I used to enjoy talking baseball with. I thought it would be nice to root on an amazing team coming off a championship with like minded fans.
Unfortunately, I spend most of my time defending our players...which is amazing to me to say the least given the quality of our team and organization. If I wanted to do that I could comment on annoying Facebook threads.
Y'all don't need me here. I am an asshole, no doubt about it, but at least I try to be fair with assessments. Enough people obviously don't care if I'm here so I can spend time elsewhere and talk baseball with others, and y'all can enjoy your forum.
Bortaz, you put together something nice here. Hopefully people don't ruin it with their incompetence.

You are right about that I wouldn't have the temperament for the position. You know I have been on the Stros boards as long as you have, I get along with everyone and have had good Baseball discussions. But since this clown joined the board last season, he has had some kind of hard on towards me. I have tried to ignore him, the only area he is good in is to start fights and when he can't defend himself he goes into his retard mode and his only answer is to call someone an asshole. So I guess that makes me a "punk ASS". '

You cannot stand an opinion that differs from yours, and, those of us who don't buy into the total value you place on sabermetrics are "old" and haven't kept up with the times. We use stats that have been tried and proved for years, and, while we look at some of the news stats, we don't discard the others and rely solely on WAR, OPS, etc. You don't get to be the sole asshole here as I am not going to lie and say I can't be as much of an asshole as anyone. I can praise players when they do well and I can call them out when they under--perform in the way Correa has for most of this season. Picking up your toys and leaving doesn't show much maturity. Yes, Bortaz put this together for us and I think we all appreciate it. He uses sarcasm at time as do I, and, it gets under some people's skin as it obviously did yours. |

I don't do a lot of posting because 1) I'm an introvert 2) I don't have a lot of time to devote to it 3) Even if I had the time, I've got better things to do and 4) No one cares what my opinion is. So, ignoring all the points I just made, I'll say this: Some of you guys can be straight-up assholes, at least on a part-time basis (and others have accepted a full-time position). It's OK to disagree, but you don't have to be disagreeable while you're doing it. Courtesy is something that is sorely needed in this world and their are precious few of you who avail yourself of it. Did your parents really teach you to talk to strangers like that? There is not a single poster here who doesn't bring something positive to the table and, newsflash, disagreement is not a personal attack. We are all on the same side. Opinions different from yours can be valid as well. Some of you grown people need to grow the hell up.
