So it's Anderson and Familia who have gotten hit the hardest tonight for Oakland. That team has to crack some time this month.
Gearrin sure was a good pick up for them though.

5-out save for Givens. Pretty impressive.

The second baseman made a fantastic play in the 9th which rivals Springer's catch yesterday.

Amazing to think that the top hitter in the BAL lineup tonight (by OPS anyway) was... Jonathan Villar.

This is the kind of thinking (on the part of Facebook, Google, and other websites that facilitate discussions) that is being challenged:

Thanks, Orioles...........now, if we can take care of the D-backs, who should come limping into Houston.

Dbacks went through 6 regular relievers today plus a position player for the 9th. The Astros need to seize on their weariness.
The Greinke game could be tough but JV is more than up to the task.

Robbie Ray (Game 1 starter for ARI) has been pitching pretty well lately. Only 4 hits allowed in his last 12.1 IP, but he's also had 6 walks in that time so maybe the Astros will be able to exploit his lack of control. One of the keys there is not swinging too much early in the count. Just let his wildness get him into hitter's counts, then jump on those 2-1 and 3-1 pitches over the heart of the plate.
Zach Godley (Game 2 starter) has been awful. Astros need to show him the exit within 5 innings and hopefully sooner.
Greinke has given up 12 hits (including 2 HR) and 2 walks in his last 12 innings of work. So he's been hittable, but still one of the tougher pitchers the Astros face this season.

In terms of tough pitching against the Astros, I consider Greinke at the same level of Price even with the diminished velocity.

Correction - the Dbacks used 7 regular relievers today. The guy who pitched the 9th had a 20ish ERA so I assumed he was a position player. Turns out he's a fresh minor league call-up who is having a rough introduction to the big leagues. Goldschmidt has been on fire this month (big surprise) and Alex Avila has been hitting well in his limited playing time. But otherwise, the DBacks offense has been pretty blah this month.
