Good lineup......solid defense and better offense without the automatic out, Correa, in it.

The Astros did ok without Correa earlier in the season. The team struggled when Altuve was out. I have no problem with Correa being on the bench the next 2 or 3 games.

Keuchel vs, Nariners has often been a disaster and we have another one going on here. The thought of Keuchel starting a playoff game is scary. He has a habit of getting hammered in the first inning.

Taking knocking out a pitcher to new heights.

Valdez and James shut this team down, but Keuchel gave up 3 in the first inning.

there are several teams that are experimenting with using a reliever to pitch the first inning. Perhaps with Keuchel we should open with a reliever and have him pitch a simulated inning in the bullpen and then come in. that way we do not start half of our games that he starts chasing the other team.

Taking knocking out a pitcher to new heights. The knocking out of a pitcher that I remember most was when the Astros were getting no-hit by the Marlins. I think the pitcher was Bud Norris. Gattis hit a screaming liner right back at him, creating a horrible looking welt on his throwing arm. He tried to stay in the game but couldn't. After that, it was all Astros.

Keuchel has been worrying me for a while now in terms of playoff readiness.
Maybe he needs more warmup pitches before the game?

I would start Josh James over Keuchel in the playoffs.

I bet the M's are saying we should play the Astros more this year. They would have had a better chance at the WC. LOL
The Astros should be ashamed of their Play at home this year. they have played their worse baseball in front of the Home Crowd who is paying their over-inflated salary.

I would start Josh James over Keuchel in the playoffs. I would too. I prefer managing using a system where you strip all the names off the jerseys and just call them Player A, Player B, Player C... and look how they are playing at this point in the season. April and May results don't mean so much and last year's mean even less because sore shoulders, strained ligaments and tendons etc. all have taken their toll and so some guys just won't play the way they did a few months ago. Right now, James and Valdez have hot hands and they may be pitching better than Keuchel and McCullers.

Yesterday James topped out at 99.9mph. I think he tried to pace himself because he was starting.
If we imagine James was told he would only pitch the first two innings, he'd have aired it out all the way to 102mph
Maybe Keuchel starting in the 3rd inning would be better for him.

With a guy like Lawrence in there, pretty clearly the M's aren't trying very hard to win.

that was part of the gist of the article about the Orioles. There's a team that isn't trying hard to win either. Sometimes we might see more competitiveness in high school baseball.

ok now I get it this is the game where we make up ground on the double play record. What the hell we got a 5 game lead what difference does one game make when you are talking about setting a new season record.
