Not an amazing game at first glance on the stat sheet, but he was all up on Ryan all day (including one bad RTP call and one lame call) with 5 QB hits outside of the Sack and Pass Defensed. He also threw out nice celebration in support of Bregman which was fun to see.
Current:
16 Tackles 4 Sacks 1 FF 2 FR 1 Passes Defensed
Projected:
51 Tackles 12.5 Sacks 3 FF 6 FR 3 Passes Defensed

Projected:
48 Tackles 10.5 Sacks 3 FF 5 FR 3 Passes Defensed
Not amazing, but he is tied for the league lead in QB Hits. He's also currently the 3rd-ranked edge rusher in the league.

Unfortunate. He was having another great year even if the Sack total was low.
"Watt has four sacks this season, but ESPN's pass rush win rate powered by NFL Next Gen Stats shows the impact Watt has had on the field. Watt created the first pressure on 62 pass rushes, easily the most in the NFL. No other player had more than 49 first pressures created.
Watt also created 19 incompletions via first pressure, which is the most of any player in the NFL. Watt was able to have that success despite being double-teamed on 29.8% of his pass rushes as an edge rusher. Only Jadeveon Clowney was double-teamed at a higher rate as an edge rusher this season."

Isn't this like 3 out of 5 seasons with a season ending injury? Wonder if JJ's body is giving out on him.

The morons upstairs give him no help and then trade away Clowney. He then has to bust his ass even harder and then gets hurt. What a great organization.

So much is made of the Manning family lineage in the NFL.
Not much has been made of three Watt brothers playing in the NFL at the same time. JJ's brother T.J. is putting up good sack numbers.

Yeah, he's likely an all-pro this year. And the rumor is that JJ has a chance to make it back for the playoffs this year.

I get why the appeal is there, and I'm sure if he was honest with himself that he would like to go to a contender...but it would make the Texans even less watchable.

Traded away Hopkins for a broken down running back that's expensive.... Basically ran off two other good players Clowney and Brown in trades.... Traded away the first round pick of last year's draft and this next one plus the next one's second for Tunsil... Which is too much to give away, but it's being compounded because the team, with its horrible record, stands to have early picks in the first and second rounds. Clearly the Dolphins owe B'OB some type of Hunter Biden payoff. And to top that call B'OB overpaid in free agency this last off-season, so the Texans are in a bad cap situation.... Their second best offensive weapon, Fuller, who is often injured, is in his contract year. Texans can't afford to lose him, but re-signing him is going to cost a lot of money, and that's not what you want to do with injury proned player. B'OB needs to go back to being a college football coach. Texans should plead for mercy with the NFL, and say that they need a mulligan. Press the reset button dating back to 3 years ago, none of the trades ever happened. It happened in an alternate universe.

It’s one thing if Watt were before or in his prime, but his best days are behind him. I know we both hate the front office, but they need to rebuild around Watson with draft picks and trades. The defense is hopeless. Just build up the offensive line IF Watson is a worthy enough quarterback. We don’t have O’Brien to blame anymore. It’s time to select the path of rebuilding instead of halfassing it.

A Watt/Chandler pass-rushing tandem could be pretty damn impressive in AZ. If you temporarily can not support the Texans, not because they are bad team, but because you loathe their ownership, is it wrong to wear a 99 Watt Cardinal jersey, and root for them?

I rooted for Berkman in the World Series.

I don't blame JJ for leaving the Texans. It is clear that McNair is the most incompetent owner in the NFL and has no clue as to how to build a winning organization.

If it weren't for his mama, who loves the Texans so much, there's no reason for him to own this team, he should sell... I'm sure someone would pay him handsomely for the Texans... And Texans fans would be so happy.

Then, he finally fires OBrien as he should have done at the end of the 2019 season after it's too late.....JJ wants to win and knows he can't do it here. Watson had his top receiver taken away and saw his team blow games in the final seconds that should have been wins. I don't blame JJ or Watson for wanting out. I just Watson is going about it the wrong way. He has a contract and should honor it unless the Texans make a trade that helps them.

I agree that Watson is going about it wrong, but the Texans need to press the reset button. They are in cap hell, no draft picks and I doubt any notable FA will want to come play here.....so trade Watson for a mother load of draft picks, and a couple younger players....I do trust Casero, the GM...

I don't think hiring O'Brien was a mistake. I think he was a solid coach and had success here. The mistake was giving him too much authority and then hanging on to him too long after it became obvious that we weren't going to move further.
I view him like Reddick. He was needed when we got him and had some solid initial success, but was around too long and lost his value the longer it went on.

They kept him around to save face because they didn’t want to fire yet another head coach. Promoting him to GM was mind-boggling and the reason why fans are about done with the team. The events that happened since reaffirms the anger.
