Glad to see James made it to the ALCS. I'd probably have swapped out Gattis for Straw too, but maybe Hinch is thinking like this in terms of DH -- 1) Price confounded White earlier this year so maybe Gattis starts at DH in Game 2. 2) White has owned Eovaldi and also does well against lefties so he probably starts vs Sale too. 3) Kemp probably DH's against Pomeranz based on L/R matchup. Limited power off the bench without Gattis even if it's kind of all or nothing.

if they really did do a sim game yesterday, it would have helped Hinch see which relievers are hitting their spots, who has zip on the ball, who has a high spin rate to create deceptive movement, etc. It could be that he liked what he saw from Rondon and Smith but he didn't like how Harris's pitches looked. How the guys are pitching this week is more relevant than how they might have pitched in September.

So, Straw and Harris out and Smith and Rondón in. What do you all think? I think it makes more sense to keep Straw and go with 11 pitchers. I can't see why we need the extra pitcher.

It I could possibly be a 7 game series. The winning team has to win four games. So pitchers are going to be taxed more

For shits and giggles, if everything else would have still happened (trades/signings).... how good what this team would have been be if we still had Hader and JD Martinez, and they produced the same as they did in 2018 for their respective teams

I'm so torn. I want the Brewers to win, but I want Braun to fail horribly and never make it to the WS.

I forget the poster that said the biggest mistake of the Gomez trade was losing Hader. Boy was he right I said at the time the trade went down that I felt like when all was said and done the one player we would most regret trading away would be Hader. Most thought Phillips was the big loss in the deal, if I recall correctly. Well before Houston traded Hader I read an article in which some scout was quoted as saying that watching Hader pitch brought to mind Chris Sale. That got my attention. I followed him closely while he was in the Astros farm system. Made me sick when they traded him away.

Bellinger 0-13 in the playoffs. Now, I want the Dodgers to advance. Striking out Bellinger is its own national pastime.
