Good deal for Harvey. Make that kind of money to prove he's worthy of a multi-year deal. Angels continue to try and apply bandages to the gaping wound that is their rotation.

He's probably releasing another video of him over-tipping a waitress. Next. Cut the kid some slack man. Bregman or VD?

Bregman is a tool. I'm glad he is an Astro, but he's a tool. If by tool you mean a Frat Boy attitude, then I agree. But if you mean mean spirited and selfish, I disagree. Oh I don't think he is mean at all. I think he's probably actually a pretty nice fun guy to be around in person (as you can see from his teammates). His social media antics and desire for attention annoy me though.

FTR - I hope Astros sign Cahill to a 2 year deal with a 3rd year team option.
And trade for Sonny Gray.
Plus a low cost flier of Shelby Miller...
Nothing above will break the bank in money or prospects.

What does Luhnow do for pitching? 1. Trade away key prospects for a #2 or better pitcher 2. Trade away marginal players or marginal prospects for diamond in the rough pitcher 3. Re-sign Keuchel 4. Sign two diamond in the rough pitchers and hope one pans out. 2

Sir, let the boy do his thing. We need the exposure to get people to remember there’s a team down here.

In seriousness, Tulowitzki surely can’t be a bad pickup, although he probably wants a starting job.

Sign two diamond in the rough pitchers and hope one pans out. Never thought i would say it at this point, but with the thinning of the herd, Kuechel might be the best gamble at this point. Back up plan? No. 4. Luhnow seems to pull a few rabbits out of hats so to speak. As far as (1) - No way. (2) I don't think who we have left marginally would get us any viable value

Bregman will probably tear his hamstring dancing like a fool on DWTS. DWTS? I'd guess he'd be more likely doing cameos on the Kardashians.

Looking ahead to the schedule, the next time we'll see the Astros at the Juice Box is March 25 when they play the Pirates for a couple games. With luck we may get to see Joe Musgrove and Colin Moran get into the games.
The games that count start on March 28 with four games vs the Rays. As the rotations stand today, and 'opening pitchers' aside, it would be something like:
G1: Verlander vs Blake Snell G2: Cole vs Morton G3: McHugh vs Tyler Glasnow G4: James vs Ryan Yarbrough
That should give the Astros a pitching advantage in the first three games, whereas for G4 I'd have to call it a toin coss. But if Luhnow can add a SP or two by opening day, and assuming the Rays add no SPs, the Astros should be able to carry a pitching advantage through the entire series.
After the Rays series, it's 3 games in Arlington before the home opener vs Oakland on April 5. With a couple strong pitching additions, the Astros should stand a good chance of going at least 5-2 on that opening road trip.

This will be one of those unusual times when the previous season's Cy Young winner faces the CY runner-up on Opening Day.
Verlander ended up with a slightly better FIP than Snell last year, but Snell beat Verlander on ERA. Last year, the Astros only scratched out two earned runs over 14.1 innings against Snell. It could be more of an uphill battle than I originally anticipated.

Bregman will probably tear his hamstring dancing like a fool on DWTS. If he gets injured doing this crap, the club should not have to pay him one dime for the time he misses. I know it doesn't work that way, but, getting injured while trying to get attention would be his fault.
