The only way this hurts the Astros is if that slew of prospects helps CLE build a powerhouse that is able to knock off the Astros in 2021-2025. That's not too worrisome at the moment. I have to think the Astros are likely to make one trade or FA acquisition before the end of the month, and then a second one by mid-February. Idk but again I think between today and Feb 1 action will happen for the Astros. I actually think we are very close on a name as we speak but who knows. I say watch REALMUTO Lugo STROMAN Castellanos But the one thing I hope is not true is us being interested in Harper.OMG. I think his money screws us. If he where to sign To add on to that Reddick and Gurriel would have to go if that happens

All 4 players Nathan mentions would improve the team, at least in the short term.
Between Reddick and Gurriel, the FO probably has more confidence in Gurriel in terms of offense since he did quite all right in 2018 for a guy recovering from hamate bone surgery. Starting the new season fully healed, he's likely to hit for somewhere between his 2017 OPS and his 2018 OPS. If we split the difference, that's a rough target of .785 or 115 OPS+.
By contrast, Reddick significantly underperformed in 2018 relative to his career averages and it's harder to find reasons why he would improve much going into 2019. He hit all right in the final month of the season (.771 OPS), but that was largely playing crappy, unmotivated teams that had no chance of getting into the postseason. Even if Reddick were to hit for his career average of .757 OPS, that still would not be as much of an offensive contribution as what Yuli stands to make.
Reddick is the younger of the two players, though, and has the better defense, so it would be a hard decision to trade him away if other acquisitions force Luhnow to get rid of one of Reddick & Yuli. I'm glad Luhnow is making these decisions and not me.

Interesting note Luis Sanatana Appalachian league top players 3rd in OBP .446 7th in OPS .917 11th in SLG .471 5th in AVG .348 He's certainly looking underchallenged in Rookie ball. If he could finish the season at the A+ level, that would be great progress for a 19 year old. Santana is currently playing second base so if we imagine he makes it to the big leagues, he'd probably need to establish himself at some other position at least while Altuve is still with the team. Perhaps they can let him play some OF/3B/SS this year to make him more versatile.

Any GM who would offer Marwin $18+ million dollars a year should be immediately fired.

I have no problem trading Reddick, but, I don't think Gurriel is going anywhere. The four guys you listed would be good additions, but, I have to wonder about the asking price for Stroman.

Any GM who would offer Marwin $18+ million dollars a year should be immediately fired. I can see Mawin getting 3 years at about $36-38 million, but, not more than that. I wish I could stop being concerned that we end up re-signing Keuchel. I wish McCann could talk the Braves into signing him.

I think it will be his last season in MLB. Would be interesting if Gattis and/or Reddick play for Atlanta. Both have ties to the area.

The Rays are a creative thinking organization. I’m curious to see how they use Brendan McKay when he makes the big league club. He is their #2 prospect per mlb.com. He is rated the #3 left handed pitching prospect in the minor leagues and also the #2 first baseman prospect in the minor leagues per mlb.com. He definitely has more value in the National League.

That’s the kind of garbage that’s embraced by Rob Manfred.

I just realized Khris Davis is going to be a FA after 2019. I'll be very curious to see what type of contract he gets as a FA. I don't know that there is a more consistent power hitter in baseball right now, but he is so limited defensively.
