It's a mental illness just like depression, schizophrenia or bipolar disease. He can't control the thoughts. He should be able to control the ACTIONS, though. There are millions of pedophiles in the world who never lay a hand on a child. And, unfortunately, parents seem to be letting younger and younger girls dress more provocatively and adult. Hell, I tried to get my 4 year old daughter some gym clothes for when she's running around outside and the shorts labelled for 5 year olds barely covers the ass....and my daughter is small for a 4 year old! Lots of unqualified parents raising kids without discipline of any kind and they let them dress as they please. In cases of this sort, the parents need a good ass-kicking.

Hell, I tried to get my 4 year old daughter some gym clothes for when she's running around outside and the shorts labelled for 5 year olds barely covers the ass....and my daughter is small for a 4 year old! You may recall my rant on Facebook about the same issue with finding appropriate exercise gear for my 12 year old granddaughter. It's ridiculous. And enough parents allow it that girls that don't wear the same slutty clothes are probably teased about it. This is why my daughter and I already have little sparring and wrestling sessions. She thinks it's just fun rough housing, but I need to make sure she can put up a fight when some 50 year old thinks he can help himself to a child.

Well I used to think Ken Giles was the most mentally unstable closer in the game. Looks like Wetteland has now taken the crown though. Can a fairly wealthy retired athlete find it so hard to get an attractive adult woman to date him, that he feels he has to go abusing children? I've never understood what's going on in these people's minds. It's a mental illness just like depression, schizophrenia or bipolar disease. He can't control the thoughts. He should be able to control the ACTIONS, though. There are millions of pedophiles in the world who never lay a hand on a child. A lot of truth here. None of us can control the thoughts that pop into our heads, but we are responsible if those thoughts turn into actions. The DSM can classify it however they want, but in my book it's just pure evil.

Wow, so far the best official offer Machado has gotten is only 7-years $175 million from the White Sox. I mean, I wouldn't pay him more than that but it's still surprising. I can't imagine the Yankees wouldn't offer at least $200 million.

Machado will get 205 m when it's all said and done with And before you go there and say any BS hear that the rumor of a chisox 175M offer for 7 years for manny machado is not correct. am told it is "way off," though not sure exactly how off. I'd say offer has to be higher and almost surely begins with a 2. Heyman

Honestly, even though the guy seems like a bit of a jerk, if you could get him for 7-years and $200 million, I think we'd have to consider it. You'd have him AND Altuve locked in for the next several years. Correa hasn't proven he can stay healthy so Machado would be a backup plan for both him and Bregman, and we could work out a DH rotation when/if they're all healthy.
There is no guarantee you'll be able to keep all of Correa, Springer, and Bregman anyways. This would allow you to let Correa go explore free agency without worrying about replacing him.
I'm not saying we need to or anything, but it certainly would make us an impressive offensive team with tons of defensive flexibility and offensive depth.
Springer CF Altuve 2B/DH Bregman 3B/SS/DH Machado 3B/SS/DH Correa SS/DH Brantley LF/DH Gurriel 1B/DH Tucker RF Chirinos C
Reddick Stassi Diaz White/Marisnick/Straw

You're going to have to start devoting some money soon to some of our other core players. What does it matter if you go all-in for 2019 and devote money to Machado now and then not bring back somebody like Correa if they have stupid salary demands later?

I apologize for being harsh about Correa. I hope he stays healthy this season, but the more he gets hurt, the more he’s overshadowed by Bregman and the more he seems expendable.

This is the reason I wanna hold onto Freudis Nova. I think Correa should be the guy that is traded if he keeps getting hurt. I also belive he should be moved to 3B andlet Bregman go to Ss
