Keuchel is GONE.....get used to it......he's history,.........good riddance. Marwin will be harder to replace than Keuchel. We have guys with more talent who can replace him. We will probably end up missing Marwin if he leaves......Keuchel not so much., And yes, I would still pay Marwin more than Keuchel. |

I think the different, Keuchel will be more missed...but since he did not take the QO, not interested in the Astros keeping him, because he will more than likely demand a 5 year contract...location pitchers are too dependent on the umpire.... |

Geez, cry us all a river already. Keuchel is a solid middle of the rotation guy, but just because he has the same beard as in 2015 doesnât mean he should get paid as such. Heâs not the same pitcher, namely because umpires made a concerted effort to shrink his strike zone (I feel bad that happened). No contract extension plus adding Verlander and Cole shows you what the team thought of him. Hey I'm just calling it like it is, with you especially. You seem to give up on players fast. He happily proved me wrong. But saying Astros fans were overrating him at first was accurate if you look at what he did before 2014. Plus, I've admitted I ended up wrong about him multiple times. |

You literally made up that I want to keep Keuchel when I said from the start I didn't. So don't lie again and say you don't. I've just tried to make the point that losing him could be a big deal because he was a big part of our team for a long time and has had a lot of success. But, he will get more than we should pay to keep him given the current state of our team. We have other needs and limited money. Same reason it would be dumb to keep Marwin for multiple years for tens of millions of dollars. |

And look at a 1B DH Lf guy.

Looks like we acquired Diaz from the Blue Jays for Trent Thornton. Â Diaz slightly below average defense for a SS but did sport a 753 ops last season. Â Gotta like this move Seems like a pretty good trade for the Astros. Good move by Luhnow. I believe Thornton would have been eligible for the Rule 5 draft this year if he wasnât placed on the 40-man roster by Tuesday. Diaz seems like a better use of a roster spot than Thornton would have been. |

Another thing that comes to mind about why we traded for Diaz.........I wonder if they know that Correa's back issue could be worse than they thought and Diaz was brought in for protection at SS. Realmuto All the sites I look at say Perez is not available. I think Grandal prices us out of it. And I think Ramos gos back to the Nationals. That's why i say Realmuto out of that bunch |
