Didn't the Astros take a dump on Wagner when he got mouthy Yeah, they did, because he was mouthy about the organization not trying to be competitive....Wagner is one of my favorite Astros of all time, but closers generally are not as valuable as front end starters. Houston and the Blue Jays seem to be friendly trading partners with the Jays getting the better of the first deal and the jury is still out on the second. My guess is that he can be had for a price Luhnow is willing to pay. The question really is, does Luhnow want him.

You know Todd is the type to take a smartphone picture of his home runs before jogging. For the record they didn't have smartphones when I was still playing. I was more like Reddick in that I would get pissed off and use bad language.

Question: would you guys prefer Keuchel or Stroman? Hmm good question. I'll go with Stroman because I think Strom could help him regain his past success he did not have last season.

Question: would you guys prefer Keuchel or Stroman? Depends on what the Astros would have to give up to get Stroman.. So does he cost you 1 top ten prospect + one top twenty + another prospect either a decent ceiling. I think his arbitration case was 7.5M this year, and he is under arb. control for next year as well..if he has a good year, then what could he get next in arb., $11M? Keuchel re-signs 2 year/36M contact with $22M for 3rd year option. Which sounds better? An intangible for me would be signing Keuchel to a relatively short term deal, would that increase our chances of re-signing Verlander or Cole, because they are friends.

Question: would you guys prefer Keuchel or Stroman? Not knowing the prospects we would have to give up I would say Dallas. I think Stroman is the better pitcher.

I didn't think the Padres were that stupid. But I guess I was wrong.

I did use a Yankee source, my cousin the Mets fan, I called him out on it. I will enjoy watching the NL East this year. Who knows how that division will go. The Nats learned last season the division will not be a cake walk. In the NL East I will be interested to see in the Mets and Phillies which team goes down in flames first, with all the moves they made. Also it will be interesting to view it from up here.

What are the odds that Manny spends all ten years in San Diego??? I guess that franchise hasn't learned from the last time they tried to go big to win now.

I didn't get all of the details, just read the headlines on the internet. Now Harper is on the clock, he turned down that kind of money with the Nats. Let's see what he settles for.

If they can get Manny to hustle they could be really good in a few years. I read that their farm system is good. They did top the Yankees AAA team a few years ago in the minor league championship. I really think those interviews and his show of play turned a lot of teams off at the end of last season.

I don't think it's a bad deal for San Diego. That franchise needs a spark maybe more than any other. It's a lot of money but he'll be worth it for at least the first 5-6 years. It gives them a franchise player to build around, and they're for sure trying to build a core in their prime to win within the next few years.
I'm glad to see a team take a chance. They have a young OF with a lot of potential. They have Myers and Hosmer as proven solid veterans at worst, with all-star potential. And they have long-term club controlled guys like Villanueva and Hedges. Not to mention Tatis Jr. waiting in the wings.
Their offense could be pretty productive. Their rotation is a big question mark still though.

Hopefully Manny shows up and they don't get burned again.

In their favor, they can't be any worse than most of his time with Baltimore so he should be used to a sucky team if they struggle.

When Manny first came up I really liked him as a player, but what turned me off from him was two years ago was the cheap slide into Pedroia. His antics continued last season.
