I'm completely serious. Marwin is a career utility player. Granted, he is one of the best utility players currently, but outside of 2017 he has never been more than mediocre overall. Mediocre players should take the most guaranteed money they can get. If you honestly believe 2 years/21 M is better than 1 year/$18M, let Yessir do the financing, I do not want Batman's kid to have a sh*tty Christmas

So I'm assuming you think he is worth $10.5 million a year? I don't generally get into player valuations because I don't really know how to evaluate them. Hence, I don't know what Marwin is worth but I suspect it's variable depending on the team. Former Supreme Court Justice Potter Stewart couldn't define what was obscene, but he said knew it when he saw it. I feel the same way about player contracts; I don't know how much they're worth, but I know what's too much when I see the numbers. He was obviously worth 10.5 to the Twins but not to the Astros.

That's a very poetic way of sitting on a fence. :-P In any case, it's actually not a great question on my part. I actually do feel he is worth $10.5 million a year (although it ended up 12 & 9). He's just not worth that to us. My point was that I feel a player with his history and potential should take as much guaranteed money as he could at this point. And 21 > 18 even if it's lower AAV.

Whitleys looking amazing so far One of the highest touted prospects in MiLb. If he pans as hoped, I am hoping for a year or two of a Verlander - Cole - Whitley tandem that will be one of the most potent 3/5 of a rotation since the 1990's Braves. Can you imagine facing us in a best 3 of 5?

Arenado signs an 8-year $260 million extension. If Correa gets healthy and Bregman continues his 2018 production, that's the kind of money they're going to be wanting in a couple years.

At this point, can change, but I would think Bregman is the one of the two they should consider that type of extension.

I think we need to make sure Bregman wasn't a fluke last year before we start offering him $200+ million dollars. Correa in 2017 was not the same as Correa in 2018...Bregman may well have a similar fall off. Or, he may get better and deserve every penny. But, not today. And probably not tomorrow, either.

The Vietnamese postal service is issuing a Trump-Kim Summit stamp.
They say it's crazy in Hanoi now, thousands of soldiers/police on the streets, roads closed, armored personnel carriers everywhere. Glad to be far away from the excitement.

And it's gonna suck cause of how cocky he is even though he's had multiple cold streaks since being in the majors

Athletes often get caught up in “building their brand”, which adds unneeded pressure and adds to what’s already on their plates.

Bregman is still earning the league minimum and claims to spend over $200K/year for his sophisticated fitness program, personal chef, etc.
I think it's one reason he is so eager to develop extra revenue streams.

Keuchel really shooting himself in the foot by not being in camp and getting in some innings against real hitters.

I think Bregman will be the opposite of Correa, Altuve, Reddick and Gurriel. I expect those others to outperform their 2018 numbers but not quite reach their 2017 numbers. I expect Bregman to be worse than his 2018 numbers but better than 2017.
All health-dependent of course.

Think about it, if he had of been a little more reasonable sooner then he would be signed and in somebody's camp by now. Instead he got greedy and now is out there flopping in the breeze. Pigs get fat and hogs get slaughtered.

I think there is an equal chance that he regresses or continues to become a $30-$36M dollar man with sustained WAR over 6/Yr. I love his approach at the plate and high contact rate WITH power. Right now he's averaging 4.92248062 WAR/600 PA which includes his adjustment to MLB play.

I've got a crew cut, more or less, so not much there for the barber to work with. But yes, the Trump Cut has become the fad of the week among 15-25 year olds.
