I just hope we don't sign him. Read recently that Luhnow commented that both Whitley and JB will not be on the OD roster. Now I do hope we sign him at least at a reasonable cost. It would have to be very reasonable before I'd sign him. He and Boras have egg all over their faces now because they had keuchel over-priced.

Harper to PHI could give SF some extra motivation to get an outfielder.
Marisnick would be great for patrolling 'Triples Alley' in the SF park. Straw too. Or maybe they like Kemp for LF.
If the Astros could get Will Smith or Tony Watson on the return, that would really help the bullpen cover the innings that are going to be expected of it.

Okay.... that's 3. Who is 4 & 5? McHugh and Miley Forgot about Miley. Not sure McHugh is our best bet as a starter.

I think Gio Gonzalez is still out there. He'd probably keep his ERA in the low 4's but be durable... could get close to 30 starts from him.
If McHugh works best in the pen, having Gio as the #5 might not be so bad. Especially if the offense is going to rock this year.

Having a gaping hole at #5 is not a good option for us.

Tucker. Better learn something soon or he will be back to the minors.
Reddick and Marisnick would look good in San Fran.

if Tucker's in the minors and Reddick & Marisnick are traded, we're going to have depth problems

I'm not a big fan of Gio (who is?) but between him, JV, and Cole, Hinch should be able to count on 600 IP. That would leave 300 IP to split between Miley, McHugh, James, Framber, Cionel, or whoever.

You despise both of them plus Yuli which shows you don't know squat about who we need on the rpster. Your boy, Deitirch, that you wanted so badly ended up signing a minor league deal.

I think we need to hunt down and call out all the f'n sportswriters that were screaming owner collusion in the past few months .
IF I was the owners I would demand retratractions, or otherwise be banned from ever stepping into another clubhouse ever again,

Dominoes are falling now that Machado and Harper are off the board. I expect Kimbrel and Keuchel go soon now too.

Harper's signing could be a good thing for the 'Stros. They might have a payroll crunch when it's time to Troutify our outfield, making it easier for us.

The Harper signing has allowed Fangraphs to re-calculate their projected team WAR totals for 2019.
The Astros now come in at 2nd place in MLB, with 50.9 WAR. NYY remains first at 54.9 WAR. BOS is 4th in MLB (and 3rd in AL) at 49.7 WAR.
Phils have jumped into 8th place (MLB) and 4th in the NL. If they pick up Keuchel they will go higher.

Im still holding out on some kinda wow move by Lunhow. He hasnt had one yet. And this roster kinda needs one. Devenski still looks like crap. Js Harris ugh. I think a reliever wouls suffice. Peacock has looked ok. And i bet the Astros so far are kicking themselves on Tucker. O well Yordan looks legit
