I’m glad JV has two more years here no matter the cost. Guys like him are diamonds in the rough.

He better be kneeling and praying to the baseball gods that they (Braves) are suckers enough to take him under his terms.

Are we really to the point of saying that Correa is a non-contributor? I'm sure Saint has the numbers on an index card next to his iPad...I can't quote them...but surely this thinking Correa hasn't contributed has to be a symptom of some kind of developmental deficiency. He’s my 4th favorite of the Big 4. I won’t go as far as saying he’s an absolute non-contributor, but out of the main four position players, he’s the least likely to carry the team. Twenty-nine other teams would kill to have him, but the Astros have the luxury of not needing him as much. You're ridiculous, pal. Just for this post, I'm bringing back Gattis.

We don't know what ATL is offering, but if it is anywhere he and his agent's asking price....... I'm betting it won't be worth it. I haven't heard what his asking price is from any reliable source. Only that he's asking for a 5~6 year deal. Thus far, that seems to be the deal-breaker for possible suitors. I would give him 3 years max

Exciting news. Glad to have Verlander for 2 more years after this season. He should really help the young guys on the team.

Of late, Luhnow has extended Pressly, Bregman and Verlander, he is the best GM in baseball. Hopefully he can extend Cole and Springer.

I really should start throwing again. I wonder if the 'Stros have room for another reliever; one who can hit, say, 65 on the gun? Of course, I'll have to get stretched out to reach that.

I would give him 3 years max Earlier I guessed 4 years / $78 million (with a team option on the fourth year, $8 million) would be the compromise numbers. At this point, I think if offered 3 years / $55 million, he'll sign.

YOU added the .199. He will do better this year. He’s not that far off, though. Jake strikes out like Reggie Jackson but without the awesome hitting.

It is really hard not to be excited now with Verlander, Pressley, and Bregman extended. We have 25 guys that just about any team in baseball would love to have on their roster if we were to cut them. We have two of the top 10 prospects in all of baseball sitting on the farm cuz we just do not need them right now, we have a total of 6 of the top 100 prospects as well as some other guys who just have tons of potential, we have guys determined to have a great year this year for contract purposes, we got hard nosed winners, we have a very good manager for the team, and we have the best general manager in all of baseball. What is there not to like, let's get this party started, time to play some ball.

I think it has been pretty well proven that cornering the market on talent like the Yankees have done in the past, does not guarntee a WS flag. As is, we have have as a goood a chance as anyone to do it. In fact Fan Graphs has us just a trace behind the Yankees. If we can get Cole locked up for a few more years, add Whitley and JB, we might have one of the most feared rotations since the early '90's Braves. You are damn right. It's an exciting time to be an Astros fan. Play ball mofos.

When we try to extend Cole, he will remember the nitpicking we did in arbitration this winter. If you want to extend him, keep him happy. Springer needs to be extended now. George has done enough to deserve it. Maybe if he popped off and ran his mouth like Bregman, he'd get his money.
