Based on the fact that he only made around $1.3 million in 2018 and has not shown he can stay healthy and consistent, I would not offer him more than 3 years at $6-7 million per year. The 5 year,.$55 million that nathan suggested is absurd. I'd give him a shot for your suggested deal. Based on his track record, I don't think he should expect more than that. I am surprised that I am not hearing Keuchel's name being mentioned as drawing interest.

I'm fine with them bypassing Stassi for Stubbs as a backup if they got Perez. Stassi would have some trade value anyways. If we get Perez, he could mentor Stubbs. I can see Stassi being used in a trade. Perez will cost prospects, Astros should just sign Ramos....Astros are not going to have major payroll considerations for another 2 years, so spend that money now, lock up Ramos for 2 years, with a 3rd year option

Corbin is the big pitching prize this off season...so Keuchel will probably sign after he does ..I think Phillies followed by the Yankees should be favorites to sign Corbin, loser should get Dallas.

$55 million seems insane for what he has shown. The 5 years is worse than the $55m. That's a LONG time to be stuck with him when he inevitibly falls back to his mean

I don’t care about the money but how long you’re stuck with a player. It seemed like Scott Feldman and Tony Sipp were here for a combined 26 seasons.

Eovaldi has a 7-8 year track record of being a 4+ ERA pitcher. That trumps one good post-season. We could probably use him, but not at the prices I've seen bandied about here. Maybe Strom can wave his magic wand and get more out of him...for the right price.

It’s kind of sucks that talks of Syndergaard have devolved into Eovaldi.

If the Yankees sign Corbin then the price for Keuchel will drop as that will take the one big money team that he would sign with at the drop of a hat off the table that we had to worry about. Philadelphia and Washington will be the only other winning teams that we have to worry about as Keuchel will not want to go to a rebuilding team in my opinion. Having said that though he might consider San Diego given their level of minor league talent and the advanced levels that talent has developed to. So if I were to rank my pitching preferences right now they would be; Syndergaard Grienke Keuchel Happ Cahill and then Eovaldi

It’s kind of sucks that talks of Syndergaard have devolved into Eovaldi. We have to trade quality for Syndergaard......we don't have to trade for Eovaldi.

It’s kind of sucks that talks of Syndergaard have devolved into Eovaldi. I suspect any deal for Syndergaard would have the Mets forcing us to part with Whitley.

Imma ask this question Would you as an Astro fan except this Robinson Cano and they pay ten million per year till his contracts over and Haniger For Josh Reddick, Yuli Gurriel and Joe Smith with 2 low level Prospects? Cano becomes the DH/1B Haniger takes over for Reddick I would take exception to this. I certainly wouldn't accept this.

For what it's worth Jason Stark and Adm Wexler think Paul Goldschmidt will get traded to the Astros.
According to there sources there is and has been talks. But that's all they know as of now
