Chirinos getting $5.75 million. Doesn’t sound like he was signed to back up Realmuto. They are not going to deal for Realmuto......you are right that Chirinos was not signed to back him up. Jose Altuve appears to have a hand in this signing. I think Chirinos does a great job for us. What did you read? I had wondered about that when I saw Chirinos was from Venezuela.

This particular idea would mean Springer would be gone after the 2020 season along with Reddick. This would mean Straw Center Tucker RF if he is not traded Harper in LF.
If he is signed. But until then Harper LF Springer CF Reddick RF
It wouldn't be a bad way to go but you are putting all your eggs in Tuckers Basket and Straw.

That's not an original thought by Nathan...it's obviously a cut/paste from somewhere. Know why? He typed "than" rather than "then", and he has shown in the past that he doesn't know how to differentiate between the two, and uses "then" 100% of the time. Wright! ****

Goofy sh__ like this ought have you put on double secret probation. That's not an original thought by Nathan...it's obviously a cut/paste from somewhere. Know why? He typed "than" rather than "then", and he has shown in the past that he doesn't know how to differentiate between the two, and uses "then" 100% of the time. Nathan has no original thoughts. He reads rumors and speculations on the net, copies and pastes them and says he "heard" or he "talked to" somebody who knows.......he has the inside scoop but can't tell where it came from because he's sworn to secrecy.........He makes up all this crap and thinks it shows how much he knows. WE ARE NOT SIGNING BRYCE HARPER.........He has made it clear that he wants to play on the East or West coast.......Houston is not close.

Harper would certainly be an all-in approach. I just can't see it happening even if Harper wanted to come here. If it's some blockbuster feasible deal, it would be something for Goldschmidt and/or Greinke.

If it's some blockbuster feasible deal, it would be something for Goldschmidt and/or Greinke. I think we have a legitimate shot at Goldschmidt and it won't cost top prospects. Luhnow won't take Grienke unless the Dbacks send along a large portion of his contract in the deal, and, unless Strom likes him, neither Hinch nor Luhnow would want him. I think Tyler White, Stassi, Kemp, and a pitching prospect could get it done.

You guys do understand the gms and coaches of both team are really buddy buddy correct?
This is the deal I talked about way long ago and everybody shot it down it's taken steam and guess what I might happen.
So I really dont care what is said about me. If I could literally post Twitter conversations that I have I would but who cares if you believe me or not it wont post the names of who says what.

Even if Goldschmidt is only under control for this next season, and he is coming off a down year for him: .290/.389/.533 with 33 HRs....I don't think the package you proposed would land him, other teams would offer better...Plus I don't think Stassi will be packaged, he is more needed for backup this year and next. Goldschmidt for Kemp, White, JJ Matijevic, Corbin Martin....<---- and this still might not be enough...they might ask for Alvarez instead of White

I bet if the Yankees were not on the hook for the Ellisbury contract right now; if they weren't, they would probably be serious candidates for Harper.

I look forward to seeing you be right.............for once. We don't take Grienke unless the Dbacks pay a lot of the money he is owed.

Overwhelmingly the majority of Astros deals under Luhnow come from almost no where. I expect any further deals will be the same. Did anybody even know we were talking to Chirinos?

No. Just like nobody knew we were talking to the Nationals about Harper at the non-waiver trade deadline, but we learned recently that Luhnow actually had a deal in place to acquire Harper at the deadline until the Nats ownership vetoed it.
