I won't quite the board even if he is wright, which is a rarity. l mite miss something if I quite the board. You get two mad around here coach. yes, what he wright's should not bother me quit so much. I would not have minded getting Goldschmidt now, but, his being traded to the Cardinals won't keep us from signing him as a free agent.

I didnt announce we where getting anything.
I made a suggestion almost two months ago about Paul and Zach.
Talked about this for those two months.
Got ahead of myself when the tweet the other day said twice as nice as Harper And was like Grienke and Goldschmidt

"Maybe you got Jake pubes in your eye." Nice. This is what the board has been missing. You have a fever? and the only cure for it is more Jake Pubes?

The Cards parted with a number 4/5 Starter, their No. 3 prospect, a prospect not in their top 20, and lastly a compensation pick. Since our farm's deeper, I am little surprised that Luhnow couldn't do better. Of course its for a one year rental. Maybe we'll do better on 2020 signing.

As i said earlier, Goldschmidt being traded to the Cardinals won't keep him from signing a deal with Houston as a FA. My guess is that Luhnow will still come up with a couple of good acquisitions. I just hope one isn't trading Tucker for Realmuto.

I would sign Goldschmidt next off-season so Astros are not out completely for top players if/when Correa and Springer do not re-sign...either see if they will re-sign before the trade deadline before their respective FA period, trade them if not competitive at that time or just offer them a QO after their respective final seasoms are over

Seems like yesterday he was slotted as a long term co-face of the franchise. A lot money is on the table for him next year. It will be interesting to see how he does.

I'm just not sure signing a will-be 32 year old 1B should be a priority us for next off-season with the pitching holes we'll have. I guess we'll see what kind of production we get in 2019.

I agree, on paper Astros could have offered more; and the more, by basis on what the Cards offered, would have bot crippled the future of the Astros... But no matter what, lets sign Goldschmidt this next off-season.

A package around McHugh and Alvarez seems like an overbid. And Luhnow skeets for draft picks

Good point, but he seems to avoid the injury bug, and appears to do well with his conditioning. (155 games + in 5 of his last 6 seasons). I vote for a '20 signing.

That was back when the Cardinals where perennial winners. 12 playoff appearances in 16 years (2000- 2015). After 3 misses now, they're just another mediocre NLC team. Come to Houston Goldy and get a ring.
