Around $17m a year, no thank you. If that is true, then I'm glad we did not sign him. If he two good clean years, then maybe...$17M a year, for 4 years, based off mainly 1 season and 1 post season....ummmm, no thank you.

I said it awhile back 4years 55m would you do it? It looks like 4yrs 70m from Boston I wonder what the heck Lunhow is doing. Is he saving for two years in Hope's Trout wants to come to Houston? Lmao

Lmao Two years ago we said why isn't Luhnow doing anything at the trade deadline. Last minute he got us JV and we won the World Series. I trust Luhnow to make and not make the right decisions. I believe not outbidding the Red Sox for Eovaldi was the right decision. I would have loved to have Goldy, but I'm sure we would have to give up Tucker and/or Whitley, which I agree with that decision as well.

I think he will do something I just hope it's not Nelson Cruz that's it. Good luck next year. I like Cruz and he would be awesome but we need more. And I really hope we dont set back and wait then grab Keuchal back. Ugh what a crock o pooooop

I will say this Boston will out hit us. We need a Catcher. LFer. DH.
Js We wont be able to compete with them if we cant HIT.

Around $17m a year, no thank you. i would not offer him close to that. if he can get that from Boston, let them have him. Maybe keeping Keuchel isn't as bad of an idea as I thought.

Now, that makes sense since they are probably losing Kimbrell. I have been hearing that all day today.

I trust Luhnow as well but sometimes it gets damn hard.
Boston is not done yet and neither are the Yankees.

I'll just say this one last time If the Astros dont go and get Realmuto its gonna be a long offseason Nonsense. We've already upgraded and there are other positions we can improve.

not to mention he can't field a position anymore. Or beat a tortoise to first base He was still putting up great numbers BEFORE he signed with the Angels. It is strange that a lot of guys put up good numbers before signing with the Angels..........CJ Wilson was a pretty good pitcher for the Rangers but was horrible and stayed injured in LA. The Angels signed Josh Hamilton and then had to pay the Rangers to take him back. pujois has steadily declined since he left St, Louis.......age and injury has a lot to do with it. The Angels will be paying him off for several years, It's because the Angels over value past accomplishments rather than analytics and finding value outside of all-star awards.

Luhnow will add a pitcher, or two, whether it be Morton or Britton or maybe someone we hadn't considered. Whitley will be in Houston sometime next season and will eat X number of innings. As it is, they have enough arms to make it through next season and do well without getting another SP, but I'd sure fell better if (a healthy) Morton re-signed. I'm 75% sure Cruz will DH and I'm not smart enough to know whether to roll the dice with Tucker or go get someone more proven. My gut says to keep him and let him take his lumps (if it works out that way). Luhnow's an extremely bright guy and I'll be OK with whatever route he decides to take. It's entertaining to watch, though.

I don't understand their interest here. What do they do with Matt Carpenter Move him to 3rd. Isn’t he supposedly worse at 3B?

What have the cards done since Albert left? Kept $30 mm a year in their pockets while he rode the Injury Train they ain't won a damn thing since he left....that is my point . We saved a lot of money when McLane let Hampton, Wagner, and those guys walk, too, But, we didn't win squat until Drayton sold the team and Crane and Luhnow rebuilt it. And regarding Charlie Morton..........he won't ask for something unreasonable. Besides, he earned whatever he gets in game 7 of the 2017 World Series. If they don't sign him, they are nuts. The Angels haven’t either, and they’re hamstrung bybthat contract, which keeps them from paying Trout market value. I’d call that a loss for Anaheim for sure.

I’d like Brantley/Pollock/McCutchen here plus Cruz. They need to really sort out the starting rotation.

I'm kinda leaning towards the rumor I posted earlier.
Carlos Sanatana and 8m in 2020 for Joe Smith and two prospects.
Santana to first.
Follow that up with Zach Grienke. I mean if its money for money and they want some kind of return. Ok Take Reddicks 26 million and give us 34m to cover Grienke. And I'll give you Framber Valdez and two lower prospcts...

Damn again Astros and Dodgers talking to the White Sox about Jose Abreu. Should be cheaper than Goldschmidt....but don't the White Sox love Abreu, and are they not starting to make ground in their division?

Damn again Astros and Dodgers talking to the White Sox about Jose Abreu. I like Jose Abreu but the time to get him to was 2 years ago, even last year....but I hope the Astros are not wanting him now, I don't want them to give up valuable prospects for a 1 year rental....at least with Goldschmidt you had someone you had the nostalgia factor, a Houston area born player That Paul might make the Astros the front-runners to re-sign next off-season...one bc he is from here and two bc after 1 year he got to know and like his teammates...so I hope they don't trade for Abreu BTW - was not for trading with Goldschmidt, better to keep prospects and sign next off-season....
