Martes injured....I think he got the best of Wil Harris... Martes control was poooooooopy And Harris idk just want him gone starting to think the same for Devenski i will celebrate if we get rid of both Harris and Devenski. Hinch seems to be in love with both of them, and, just when he thinks he can depend on them in a critical situation, they get hammered and cost us a game. I'm sick of it and the only way to guarantee that we don't see it again is to get rid of them.

Brent Strom will fix Tucker. He fixes everything. Except Ken Giles Sigmund Freud and B.F. Skinner collectively couldn't have fixed Giles.

If the Yankees were to acquire Syndergaard with Paxton and Severino, they would be pretty damn dominant if they stay healthy.

Interesting though I was reading in the Twitter verse.
When was the last time a 25-26 yr old athlete came up in FA?
The thought process on the Bryce Harper to Astros deal is as Follows!
If you go get Harper for the 10years or less idk how that works.
You essentially have three postions covered not all at the same time but covered. OF, 1B and DH. As he gets older depending.
And at the age of 25-26 that's usually when most prospects are either figuring out OMG I cant hack it or I'm doing ok or better.
The biggest thing you must think about is how do you sign him and what do you do with Yuli and Reddick and then eventually Springer?
I would think if you did this deal with Harper you wanna protect your investment for the long haul so 1B is where Harper goes.
Yuli would need to be traded with out taking money back.
Springer needs to be moved to a COF postion to prolong his career. Reddick would be sacrificed and Tuckee either Kept or traded for a long time player like Realmuto whom you would have to resign in two years

sources have told me that #Harper has narrowed down his teams to #astros #Phillies and #dodgers and will decided soon . Said that #cubs didn’t even talk to him. Stay tuned.
The above twitter account who wrote this was just hired by Ried Ryan like a month or two ago.
This is crazy wild if it's TRUE. Wonder what that contract would look like? And its along the lines of what I've said from the start of FA the Astros have been searching for that big bat for three years. Was in on Gencarlo Stanton

Harris is a FA, right? I haven't given up on Devenski yet, but if he doesn't make the team/cut, I am okay with it. After the Astros signed Harris to a 2 year contract for 2017-2018 with a $5.5 million club option for 2019, I was thinking he would be a FA this offseason if the Astros declined their club option for 2019. Turns out he still has one more trip through arbitration remaining before becoming a FA. MLBTR is projecting that he will get $3.6 million for 2019 via arbitration. So the Astros likely saved themselves $2 million +/- by declining the club option. Similarly, Springer will still have one trip through arbitration remaining after the 2 year $24 million deal he signed for the 2018-2019 seasons expires, if he doesn’t sign an extension.

Voodoo.....
Luhnow is not going to give Harper any 10 year deal. And if he signs him in the first place, he has lost 20 "atta-boys" (IMO)
Let some left/right coast POS team sign him.

Sources: Where J.A. Happ winds up could come down to the team that guarantees him a third year. Right now, none has, and he has indicated he’ll sign with the first one that does. If none steps up, he’s got a number of two-year offers to consider, most from contending teams.

It's been said by almost every team they dont like him. Think he will be a Reliver in the future. I think that's one of the reasons why none of the bigger deals wanted him. They want Perez or Corbin. Players like that that can stay in the Rotation.

Arizona is now saying that they do not intend to do a complete sell off and are comfortable where their salary is right now (65 million committed with Grienke). Could be posturing and it could be real, if it is real then time to change directions and go for Fulmer or Stroman. At the same time we have the 5th highest payroll in baseball and Crane has indicated he wants to stay below the luxury tax. There's a gap between the two of around $24M. Arbitration and raises likely cuts it in half. Acquiring Greinke would put payroll above $206M it's looking. I don't think we trade for him, but that's just a prediction
It'd surprise me if we traded for Stroman after he publicly bitched about his last arbitration hearing

I really like Tucker. I’m just hoping he doesn’t succumb to the pressure of a sink or swim situation. Maybe he’ll eventually thrive like Bregman. I’m not sure if I’d even do a trade with him and Realmuto straight up. I'm afraid that if we move Tucker it will be a moment of pleasure followed by years of pain just like Boston's Trade of Bagwell for Anderson. Andersen*

If we sign Harper, it will be the shocker of the off-season for all of baseball........What are the odds against it........very high. It would take a long time to root for the DB. Can you imagine the playoff---between Bryce and Yuli, who has the better lid.

Why the hate on Harper? He’s not that horrible of a player as people make him seem.

Why the hate on Harper? He’s not that horrible of a player as people make him seem. I believe he wants to win period. I think he knows in his mind it's about winning playoffs and world series. He is tired of mediocre half asking like the Nationals. I think he sees what the Astros have done and is truly Interested. If Lunhow and Crane think we need him then they understand what to do

AJ was just interviewed at the winter meetings on mlb, speaking on the rotation. What is the feeling of Colin going back into the rotation, or is he better staying in his same role.
