Another note Astros could look into Jackie Bradley Jr to play CF and shift Springer to the COF. Why would Boston trade him though? Won't happen. Boston wants a Reliver for Bogaerts or Bradley or Porcello

I think the reason Astros like Brantley is he doesn't strike out much and his at bats are productively good He needs to be DH ...and then you have to see how much he is asking for in years and money....and then compare that to of Cruz's asking price or the Cardinals for Martinez I wonder if the Cards would trade with the Astros? And I think Nelson Cruz is just waiting to go where he wants to go. Report is he has an offer on the table from the Rays

At age 38, if he wants to have a chance to win a ring, he signs with the Astros. He won't get one in Chicago or Tampa.

Does 2year 20million enough for you to play for the Astros and only DH?

Ender Inciarte being shopped?
Apparently the Reds are talking to tr he Braves on a deal for Ender.
This is a type of player who can play CF for the Astros and move Springer to LF?
Just a thought idk what it would take

Makes some since on this front Houston wants versatility.
Micheal Brantley Josh Harrison
Sounds like the Mets be cooling on Realmuto. Yasmani Grandal could be there target

luhnow has ice water in his veins. If he winds up with Realmuto for a reasonable price then buy a chunk of marble and get the sculptures out.

I am just ready for him to make moves to strengthen the team. I trust him, but, I can't get over how he sat twiddling his thumbs at the trade deadline last year and failed to get the bat we desperately needed.

Just a thought idk what it would take Inciarte is a stellar defender but the bat is sketchy. He’s like a slightly better version of Marisnick. Pass.

When you had down years from Springer, Correa, Altuve, Reddick, McCann, and Marwin, it wouldn’t have mattered if Luhnow time traveled and acquired Ted Williams. The team was snakebitten.

two years ago he lost Britton at the deadline because the ownership would not do what he had negotiated with the gm and had agreement on. Last year he had a deal for Harper but ownership would not agree to what he had negotiated with the gm and had agreement on. Seems to me like he sometimes holds the line too hard and things go to the last minute and then when the other guy blinks that guy is not the guy who actually has the last word. Free agency does not have those issues so he best not fiddle while Rome burns.

Mets seem to be lining up there second and third option after Realmuto. Seems Marlins might be moving Rralmuto sooner rather then later

I have no complaints about what Luhnow has done or how he does things.
It can be frustrating for fans since we want to know everything going on, but I'd do the same thing in his shoes.

What's going on seems like every guy Luhnow shows an interest in is getting overpaid by the landing club. He made some desperate trades in 2015-16 when we first springboarded into contention, but moves like that apparently are in his rearview. I anticipate whatever Cruz gets will be more than fans were willing to pay based on these deals we're seeing
