I think if 61 years go by and no AL player has busted that total, Maris should get recognized with an official exhibit if not a HOF bust Seeing today that Frank Robinson passed away, and watching Baseball for the longest time, my personal opinion for the best players in Baseball talent was the 60's. I don't know how many people on the board actually were able to see these players play in that decade, of course Baseball was not covered then like it is now. Which comes to the conclusion of what some of these guys brought to the table. I wish I could've seen Bob Gibson pitch live. All I have is archival footage

All I have is archival footageI only saw him on the tube, but he played when the brush back pitch was not cried by hitters. He would move the hitter off the plate and then throw that sweeping curve ball.

Robinson the last manager of the Expos.

Maris had a fantastic 2-year run and a very good 6-year run, but he just didn't put up the totals or rate stats career-wise to be be worthy of the HoF. His accomplishment with the 61 HRs is worthy of a display, but he wasn't a HoF-caliber player, imo. (And he wouldn't have passed Ruth without the extra 10 games he payed in for his 61 HRs.) I think if 61 years go by and no AL player has busted that total, Maris should get recognized with an official exhibit if not a HOF bustI agree with an exhibit. I don't agree with a bust.
