Springer has 45 AB’s and 15 K’s. Keuchel is cementing his exit after 2018 as an Astro. You got that right.

Does anyone think Keuchel tips his pitches? I mean no one is fooled anymore.

When the ball and strike count is almost50/50 that is trouble.

Keuchel getting squeezed. Definitely.

Might be good to let McHugh throw around 60 pitches today. Try to get him stretched out for a start next week in case one of the starters (I dunno, maybe his name starts with K) has to go on the DL for 10 days.

Keuchel is being killed by a tight zone and dribblers.

Astros are known for scoring 5+ runs in a given inning in Minnesota. This is no time to lose hope!

with all these pop-ups, it looks like the Astros hitters have been emphasizing "launch angle" a bit too much. Not many of those pop-ups are gonna fall like they did for Bregman the other night. Hosmer can only be cloned so many times.

in terms of the pen, McHugh can probably give 3 to 4 innings (60 pitches) tonight, then Rondon needs work for an inning, and if we're ahead or behind by 5 runs then Hoyt can safely get an inning. that's just a start. there is an off day after this series so Hinch can lean heavily on the bullpen if he needs tonight.

I know it's frustrating to watch an Astros starter have less than an ideal game, but honestly, I wouldn't be inclined to jump to big conclusions about Keuchel based on his performance in a single game played in unusual weather conditions.

I applaud Jake for trying to bunt. I just wish he would give it three tries instead of only once and on the first pitch.

Springer needs a mental day off. He has no clue right now. A couple of these guys could probably do with 10 days on the DL for "muscle soreness" followed by a week-long rehab assignment in Corpus. In the meantime let White, Reed, Kemp, or Mayfield come up and do their thing. They couldn't be worse.
